At my College’s Planning Council last week, I presented key take-aways from the updated Middle States (MSCHE) accreditation standards and processes. In short, Periodic/Mid-Point Reviews are GONE and Guiding Principles were added to help structure an institution’s approach in creating its Self-Study. Higher Education institutions must respond with how it approaches diversity in all forms, and how it uses data to support all students with their goals. For my higher education brethren in the Middle States service area, what was your biggest take-away from the new 14th edition of the Standards?

This is such unique and important work for higher education and accreditation. This Global Study describes the current landscape of higher education quality assurance across all regions of the world. Now, more than ever, it is critical to understand international QA practices, challenges, and contexts as such benchmarks can inform changes on the near horizon. The survey for quality assurance bodies and the companion survey of higher education institutions are both in the field now.
