🌍We are happy to announce that You Song, one of our fellow NIVAists, will attend the upcoming #SETACTianjin Meeting! 🔬 📓 Phasing out animal experimentation in chemical hazard assessment has become an unstoppable trend. One of the remaining challenges is how data generated by alternative approaches to animal experimentation (e.g., in vitro tests and in silico predictions), can be translated to support regulatory decision-making. Adverse outcome pathway (AOP), a framework for better utilization of mechanistic knowledge and building causations of key toxicological events across multiple levels of biological organization, can be a potential solution. 🔊 In two weeks’ time, You Song from our section will give a presentation at SETAC Asia-Pacific 14the Biennial Meeting on how quantitative AOP (qAOP) modeling can enhance the regulatory relevance of zebrafish in vitro new approach methodology (NAM) data and help reduce/replace future fish growth tests. 👨🔬 👩🔬 This work is part of a larger research project, RiskAOP, on the development qAOPs to support risk assessment of mitochondrial toxicants.
