If you've hired for a mid or senior-level UX position in the past 6 months, what are a few things that made candidates stand out to you? Let's consider this a little UX research exercise so we can understand what goes through the minds of people involved in hiring! Note: Please only reply if you've actually hired someone in the last 6 months ... not looking for hypothetical opinions here! #uxresearcher #uxjobs #uxdesigner #productdesigner #uxwriter #uxdesign #productmanagement
I'm so curious on these responses. Will be providing a response but just need some time to pull together my thoughts!
This would be super insightful!

4moA few thoughts.... When I recently hired a senior-level UX researcher, it was crucial that this person possessed not only the necessary research skills but also the ability to develop effective research plans, execute studies with a specified number of participants, and demonstrate quick thinking and adaptability. Above and beyond this I wanted this person to be able to advocate for user research across the organization - they knew it was "important" during the discussion but I wanted to understand how they would ensure that it is something that would be "believed" in across the organization. Additionally, I wanted this person to be able to tell a compelling, actionable story. While it’s acceptable for someone to simply state their research findings, I sought someone who could discuss the challenges, struggles, and resolutions. They should also be able to identify key themes, making the insights immediately actionable rather than just another document left on the desk.
