One year ago today, I walked into this building, unsure of what this organization saw in me. The imposter syndrome was real. When I let my guard down and embraced my curiosity and eagerness to learn, I started focusing less on what I lacked and more on the work itself. The journey has been incredible, filled with growth, learning and amazing colleagues who have supported me along the way. I'm grateful for the opportunities and excited for what's ahead.

In more recent years, it's been frustrating to see my favorite Vancouver beaches closed due to, ahem, crappy water conditions. 💩 The Genome British Columbia-funded GEMSTONE project is tackling this issue head-on! Researchers are using genomics to identify the source of the contamination, allowing for faster and more targeted cleanups. This project has the potential to keep our beaches healthy and accessible for all you swimmers, cold plungers and everything under the waves 🌊 🌊 🌊
The Genome BC funded GEMSTONE project received extensive coverage on CBC News last night! 📺 Thanks to Darius Mahdavi and Rafferty Baker for for shining a spotlight on this research. This nearly 4-minute segment highlights the incredible work being done in genomics. Don't miss this fascinating segment! https://lnkd.in/g-RZ32Ga #Genomics #CBCNews
