The main difference between CAD and CAM programming is CAD stands for Computer-Aided Design (in some circles, it can refer synonymously to Computer-Aided Drafting), which refers to the design or modification of a digital model while CAM is Computer-Aided Manufacturing and controls the machine used to produce a part. CAM draws the CAD model into the real world. https://buff.ly/3MCPn3R #CNC #CNCMachining #CNCmilling #CNCTurning #5axisCNCMachining #MechanicalEngineer #automotive #machinerymanufacturing #industrialautomation #PrecisionPartsProcessing

Only a few weeks to go until Bett Global 2024 & we had a sneak peak at the construction of our new stand… 😱 Not only is this awesome to watch but it also utilises STEAM skills and activities. Computer Aided Design (CAD) allows the design of 2D & 3D products to allow engineers to visualise and optimise the design process, it has become a great alternative to manual drafting. #learning #education #stem #steam #CAD #design #cutting #engineering #bettshow

I just finished "Reverse Engineering Foundations: Product Design" by Steven Marjieh - Feeling Inspired! 💡 I'm excited to share that I just completed the "Reverse Engineering Foundations: Product Design" course! For those unfamiliar, reverse engineering involves taking apart a product to understand its inner workings and design principles. This course provided a fantastic introduction to the subject, focusing on its application in the product design world. 🔧 Throughout the course, I learned various techniques for deconstructing physical products. The course demonstrated the use of traditional tools like calipers and micrometers, as well as more advanced methods like 3D scanning and digital modeling. It was fascinating to see how these tools can be used to unlock the secrets behind existing designs. 🚀 The course also delved into the practical applications of reverse engineering in product design. The course covered scenarios where it might be used to create compatible parts, improve upon existing designs, or even gain inspiration for entirely new products. I found this aspect particularly valuable, as it opened my eyes to the many ways reverse engineering can be used to fuel the creative process. Overall, I highly recommend "Reverse Engineering Foundations: Product Design" to anyone interested in learning more about this fascinating field. Whether you're a seasoned designer or just starting, this course offers valuable insights and practical skills that can be applied to a wide range of projects. 🌐 https://lnkd.in/gBKJH99A #reverseengineering #productdesign #learning #innovation #creativity
