For six years, Anna Petty faced a growing lump in her groin, wrongly diagnosed as a harmless cyst. At 19, she learned the lump was a rare soft tissue sarcoma called dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP). After enduring multiple misdiagnoses and surgeries, Anna is now cancer-free and studying at university. Anna's story highlights the critical importance of early and accurate diagnosis in sarcoma cases. At Sarcoma UK, we hear far too often about young people like Anna who face prolonged periods of misdiagnosis. Anna recently took part in the Great North Run alongside her sister Karrie where they raised funds and awareness for Sarcoma UK Thank you Anna for your support💙 Read more about Anna's story at https://lnkd.in/ejxBRC_A #SarcomaAwareness #SarcomaCancer #EarlyDiagnosis
