Businesses importing from Asia should act fast due to disruptions and rising tariffs. Shipping costs have surged 300-382% as early orders cut cargo space. However, higher port fees and uncertain consumer demand pose risks. #supplychain #shipping #importexport #logistics #InformaConnectAcademy

It’s estimated that over 50% of online orders utilize Section 321; In some cases this means what you’re ordering today online is likely in Asia, also today, to be packed and labeled direct to you before being air freighted into the US. Although this article speaks to direct shipping into Mexico and warehousing, the takeaway here might be: The ROI on eliminating tariffs and duty exposure is so high that it justifies systemically air freighting product. #ForsythAdvisors https://lnkd.in/gRXbcYe7

How to help importers reduce 5%-15% of goods costs? Now, many American companies are looking for suppliers from China, but the current additional tariff policy imposed by the United States on China has caused the import cost of products to increase by at least 7.5%. In particular, it has increased by 25% for most clothing products. So now more buyers are willing to make DDP terms with suppliers, because this way they can give all the tariffs and freight to the suppliers and let them bear all the costs. If you have a freight forwarder that can provide all-inclusive door-to-door services, you can directly discuss the EXW or FOB transaction price with the supplier. The rest is all left to the freight forwarder, who will provide a door-to-door logistics solution. The door-to-door logistics solution operated by the general freight forwarder will match the reasonable declared amount through the past data of the customs system, thereby reducing tariffs. Of course, there are risks in this type of service, but the significance of the all-inclusive service is that the freight forwarder will bear such risks. The bonds they use are all one-time, which also avoids the risk of traceability for buyers who frequently import. So, if you need all-inclusive freight forwarding company services, you can contact me at any time. 😝 ADD:4775 Boulder St, Chino, CA 91710 WhatsApp:+86 15179143428 WeChat:15179143428 Tell:+86 15179143428 E-mail:a132865075@gmail.com & allen_twth@163.com

📦 Latest Logistics Update 🌍 With the recent upcoming implementation of new tariffs on certain made-in-China goods in Europe and North America, along with the Red Sea crisis, most sellers have shipped their cargoes ahead of schedule to ensure the smooth arrival of goods. Freightos reports that pressure on the peak season has eased earlier this year as a large number of shipments arrived earlier, but container demand is likely to remain high in September. It is recommended to plan shipments in advance, allow more transportation time for possible delays, and keep an eye on the latest market and port news.

Are the likes of Shein and Temu exploiting import tariff loopholes in countries like South Africa to beat out local operators? I joined Pabi Moloyi on POWER 98.7 this week to discuss some of the policy issues affecting the local e-commerce market. Minister for Trade, Industry and Competition (the dtic), Ebrahim Patel, has called for an urgent need to balance the playing field in the e-trading sector to ensure platforms like Temu and Shein paid equitable import tariffs and value-added tax (VAT) to balance the clothing retail sector's performance. This comes as local operators complain of the competitive edge these Chinese retail giants have over locally-based industry. LISTEN https://lnkd.in/d5Xkc-jP

The Albanese government is slashing nearly 500 import tariffs starting July 1, making everyday items like toothbrushes and fridges a tad cheaper. This massive move is all about boosting productivity and cutting down on pesky compliance costs. Treasurer Jim Chalmers says it's the most significant tariff reform in decades, aiming to make life easier for small and medium businesses. And guess what? This could mean some extra coin in your pocket, easing those cost-of-living blues. The government's playing the long game here, streamlining $8.5 billion worth of trade and saving businesses over $30 million yearly in compliance costs. Talk about a win-win!
