Managing Director and Global Head of Venture Capital Banking at Barclays

We had a terrific group of CEOs, investors, and entrepreneurs at the Barclays Investment Bank Global Technology in San Francisco this month, with CNBC broadcasting live from the conference. Was excited to host a keynote conversation on the future of venture capital investing with Glenn Solomon from Notable Capital and Raviraj Jain at Lightspeed. Glenn and Raviraj offered terrific insights about investments in AI, the changing enterprise software landscape, and what the exit environment will look like into 2025. Defense technology was at the top of everyone’s minds. I hosted two panels with game changing entrepreneurs here. The first was a fireside chat with Anduril Industries CEO, Brian Schimpf, and CFO, Babak Siavoshy, to a packed room about their vision for transforming defense. A second panel on “The Future of Defense Technology”highlighted the terrific work of Tyler Sweatt, CEO of Second Front and Dino Mavrookas at Saronic Technologies. Both CEOs offered a unique perspective about the rapid growth of this sector. Another over capacity room. The front page of the Financial Times highlighted the great work of Anduril, Saronic, Palantir, and SpaceX today. Of course, #AI continues to be in every conversation. That was center stage on our panel on “AI in the Enterprise” with Umesh Sachdev the CEO of Uniphore and Paulo Rosado CEO of OutSystems. Coming on the heels of announcing two exciting acqustisions, Umesh covered the accelerating landscape of AI solutions in enterprise. Paulo’s overview of opportunities for AI in the low-code and no-code environment left everyone buzzing. Jonathan Ross CEO and founder of Groq highlighted the critical role of semiconductors in the AI revolution and currency of chips in the future of global security. Thanks to everyone who joined us for packed two days. And of course to the terrific work of Matthew Censullo Jamie Goldstein and everyone at Barclays who worked hard to make this a success. Congratulations to the terrific investors, team and supporters of these visionary companies Trae Stephens March Capital Jamie Montgomery Zachary Bookman Sumant Mandal John Chambers Salesforce Ventures Peter R Dixon Paul Drews Mark Zanoli New Enterprise Associates (NEA) Allison Lazarus Stephane Berthier Adam Porter-Price Paul Compton Erin Pace Dave Cascalenda Sam Gray Katherine Boyle #defensetech #nationalsecurity #venturecapital
