Job Seeker Tip We call it the icing on the cake - how to round off your CV … Add into your CV your hobbies and/or achievements like: ✅ Marathon runner (shows your dedication to a goal and perseverance) ✅ Volunteer (shows your dedication and values to helping the greater good) ✅ Artist/Writer (shows off your creativity and talents) Unfortunately Uber Mom or ‘Likes to read’ doesn’t quite give the right icing on the cake. But don’t panic! Here's how to stay ahead: 1/ Identify your "AI-proof" skills ↳ Public speaking - AI can write scripts, but it can't deliver a killer presentation ↳ Empathy - You interviewing people and knowing what works remains ↳ Leadership - Inspiring and managing teams is still very human ↳ Negotiation - Nuanced, high-stakes discussions need the human touch ↘ These are tough for AI to replicate imo. Double down on them. 2/ Become the AI 'whisperer' ↳ Learn prompt engineering (it's not as nerdy as it sounds) ↳ Figure out which AI tools amplify your work, not replace it ↳ Be the go-to person for AI integration in your team/company 3/ Rethink your role ↳ Customer support? Become an escalation specialist for complex issues ↳ Content creator? Use AI for research and outlines, you focus on unique insights ↳ Coder? Shift from writing every line to architecting systems and reviewing AI output ↘ Try to work towards these kinda more strategic roles now — we still have time before AI takes us all over, so let's use that time to be a little more prepped 4/ Continuous learning is non-negotiable ↳ Set aside time weekly to play with new AI tools ↳ Join AI-focused communities in your industry ↳ Use AI tools for non-work stuff too - get familiar with it! 280 days into Immigrating some more lessons learnt: ✅ Getting your British drivers license is all about trust - you send your only British identification into the post! (In SA you wouldn’t get it back) ✅ Finding support is easier than you think (everyone is human you find) ✅ Events like Halloween and Guy Fawkes are so big here - off to find a pumpkin soon ✅ Yes public transport is so easy with apps like City Mapper ✅ So many banks you can use to open an account (we were told we would struggle) we didn’t with Monzo ✅ Hiring South Africans in the UK is awesome - we known for our hard work ethic And yes the Sun does shine (I find the weather very similar to Cape Town it’s grey in autumn and sunny in summer - cold in winter and beautiful in Spring) #immigration #recruit #jobcrystal

It’s called standing out and reminds me what I saw today a 28 page CV! Now there is not an ideal number of pages for your CV but 28 is too many. Resume is max 2 pages (short, punchy and gets people interested - think of it like an advert) CV ideal is max 3 pages (detail last 2 jobs, add education, skills and a recommendation) When someone asks you for more detail on your job background then go up to 5 pages. 28 pages is a book. HR/Line managers do not have that much time to read that many pages of a CV. In short keep it relevant and make it have a great lasting impression. #cvtips #jobs #jobcrystal
