Meet Marcela Widmayer, our Supply Chain Analyst from #SATAIRUSA "What excites me most about working in aviation is the knowledge that I work for a company that positively impacts our daily lives by enabling aircraft to fly and promoting global connections. One of the company values that resonates the most with me is "we are one team." I strongly believe in the power of teamwork. While individual efforts can yield results, the synergy of working together and supporting each other within a team leads to more effective outcomes. I cherish my experiences of collaborating with my team, both inside and outside the company. We stand by each other whenever needed, and our relationships are truly amazing. I joined Satair because I wanted to work for a company that has a meaningful impact on people's lives. It's gratifying to see the tangible results of my daily work. The aerospace industry has always fascinated me, and I found my way into this industry through my background in supply chain management. What keeps me motivated on the job at Satair is the dynamic and challenging nature of the Supply Chain field. I find fulfillment in my interactions with fellow employees and managers, appreciate the diversity within the company, and value the flexibility of the hybrid work environment. To a fellow newcomer, my advice would be to stay open-minded. We are a diverse company with individuals from different backgrounds. Be ready to learn, as there is so much to discover about Satair and the aviation industry. You'll be surprised by the depth of knowledge required behind the scenes for aircraft production. Lastly, be proactive; take the initiative and lead in supporting your teammates. One of the most memorable experiences I've had at Satair was the newcomer's day. On that day, I had the opportunity to learn more about the company where I was starting my career journey. We visited the Dulles Warehouse, where aircraft parts are stored, and I got to meet other new hires. This experience allowed me to forge connections that I still hold dear to this day." Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us Marcela. Check out other Satair People stories at www.satair.com/career #weareone #sataircareer #satairfamily

Sisira Dash, a name that needs no introduction. One of the most powerful names, not just in Indian but global MRO circles. The world knows him as the Chief Technical Officer at Air India Limited, we know him as a part of the MRO South Asia family since he was heading the Vistara operations as the Head of Engineering. Air India, with its massive fleet intake, is in itself a huge MRO market for the world, as the MRO demand for the new as well as the aging fleet will be enough to meet the needs of third-party MROs worldwide. Not just that, there is a chance that the demand might be much more than the availability of maintenance slots across various MROs. Given that, Air India, under Mr. Dash’s leadership is also developing its in-house MRO capabilities in airframe, line as well as heavy maintenance. At the MRO South Asia 2025 summit, Dash will throw light on the huge #MROmarket in #India, its implications on the #Asian as well as #globalMROmarket, the changes at Air India’s maintenance branch as it gears up to merge with Vistara, and much more…If you are a third-party MRO, OEM, spares agent, vendor, or supply chain expert – here’s your chance to come, meet, and hear him speak in person – The one and only – Mr. Sisira Dash. Join us for our next industry briefing at 4pm IST on Thursday 25-Apr, on the "Outlook for #widebody aircraft in India". Indian carriers currently only have around 65 widebodies (of which some are not operational). In contrast, the ME3 carriers have close to 500 widebodies, of which more than 250 are with Emirates alone. As a result, 6th freedom carriers accounted for the dominant share of long haul traffic (64%) and ultra-long haul traffic (80%) to/from India prior to the pandemic. But the combination of India’s international OD potential, supplemented by other South Asian countries as extension markets and the opportunity to capture intercontinental transfer traffic via Indian hubs, makes this arguably one of the most exciting long haul markets in the world. To find out more, join us for the briefing on 25-Apr. Registration is complimentary at https://lnkd.in/gA5YnzhD. Our portfolio of 700 global consulting projects, of which more than 275 were related to India and South Asia alone, includes extensive experience in advising Indian and global carriers on diverse projects related to demand projections, aircraft evaluation, network planning and commercial strategy for international operations. #IndianAviation

What's the most valuable transferable skill from aviation to software sales? I get asked variations of this question a lot! There's certainly not just one answer, but there is one skill that always comes to my mind, and it consistently helps me in my role at Certinia. - The one I am thinking of is not the work ethic or discipline from the military. - Nor checklist use. - Nor technical know-how from flying. - Nor thinking about 'what-if' scenarios. - It is not even the ability to sing 'you've lost that loving feeling' without any shame in a crowded bar! The skill that always comes to mind is the ability to build rapport and have a functional working relationship with pretty much anyone. My experience at Cathay Pacific Airways, flying the Boeing 777: ▶ 100's of flights, almost always with a new set of crew. ▶ We would only have a few minutes together before operating a 351 tonne piece of machinery with 300+ passengers on board! ▶ Building immediate rapport and having the ability to work with whatever team we had that day was essential. ▶ Doing this hundreds of times gives the confidence that you can do it with anyone and in pretty much any situation. That allows me to not worry about who I will be meeting, but to focus instead on their potential business issues and what we need to solve together. I still have much to learn, but I'm very grateful for any spare mental capacity that my previous experiences offer me! #aviation #sales #clouds2thecloud
