Clear advantage for users, coverage everywhere with 6G Satellite-Terrestial links
Attending ETSI 6G NTN conference in Sophia Antipolis, France with a lot of talks about required technology developments to support use cases such as future aviation, automotive industry and public safety. It has been pointed out multiple times that multi-layer satellite systems combining GSO and NGSO systems is one of the key elements for the 6G - and ability to seamlessly connect devices to terrestrial and non-terrestrial segments is essential. You may find our latest article written in collaboration with Inmarsat and Fraunhofer FOKUS that discusses how multi-layer satellite systems can provide ultra-high availability and resilience. https://lnkd.in/gVWGsyzX

Last week, Sceye participated in The Global Forum on Connecting the World from the Skies, hosted in Riyadh by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the Communications, Space & Technology Commission (CST) of Saudi Arabia. Our CEO, Mikkel Frandsen, joined the panel discussion, “Communication on the Edge of Space,” to explore how HAPS (High-Altitude Platform Systems) and near-space technologies are unlocking new possibilities for global connectivity. The session highlighted the continued evolution of Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTNs) and the key role of HAPS in complementing satellites and terrestrial towers, providing enhanced coverage and performance. It was an engaging discussion on the future of unmanned stratospheric systems, addressing their development, emerging markets, challenges, and transformative potential.

PT Pasifik Satelit Nusantara (PSN), Indonesia’s first private satellite company, has entered into a collaboration with Elena Geo Tech, a navigation-based manufacturing company in Bengaluru, India, to develop a satellite navigation system in Indonesia. Representatives from both companies signed an MoU at the India Space New Congress in New Delhi, India. The system to be developed will include positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) aimed at the transportation services sector, air and sea navigation, and defense. By applying satellite navigation in Indonesia, all sectors that require and use PNT will benefit from accurate positioning, speed, direction, and timing, resulting in high precision and efficiency. India's decision to allow local Satellite companies to use foreign orbital resources for the first time is set to boost private sector participation in the Country's space and satellites sector. Local Companies need an authorisation from IN-SPACe. Further to this, Indian Satellite Companies need to apply to Geneva based, ITU(International Telecom Union). This will allow Indian players to deliver satcom services at competitive rates in India.
