Why is it important to deliver a high-#quality patient #experience to those patients who travel for #treatment? If a #medical #travel #patient feels respected and treated fairly in an organization they perceive to have professional business practices, they are likely to be loyal. Studies have shown that, for a patient, the effectiveness of the interaction with the #healthproviders and coordinators- the experience is equally important as the accuracy of the diagnosis treatment, and procedure. Some communication and education points to enhance the patient experience: - Educate patient and family about the destination and any necessary safety precautions - Educate the patient about the anticipated care plan - Provide an integrated itinerary detailing travel, hospitality, pre-admission tests, lab, and likely post-discharge recuperation in the patient’s language. The last point to keep in mind is: think of your last flight, you may have arrived at your destination on time but that does not necessarily mean the entire flight experience was pleasant.
