🔄 Client-Inspired Innovation ♻️ Innovation often starts with a simple question... When showcasing our new betterJOINERY Ultima Laminate range late last year, one client asked: "Can you make the carcass material too?" The reasoning was compelling - carcass material represents 4x the volume of MDF used in kitchen, office, and retail fit outs. Traditional MDF has significant drawbacks: 🚰 Moisture sensitivity 🪵 Lack of natural wood grain ☠️ Potential formaldehyde content and VOC emissions during fabrication ⚒️ Poor edge and screw hold 🗑️ No viable end of life options = landfill Challenge accepted. We already had the product, we just needed to refine it further to achieve the desired performance properties. How did we do it?: ✅ Reduced particle size by 50% for a finer finish ✅ Increased density in our 15mm product ✅ Created an exposed dual-sided finish without paper coating ✅ Maintained the distinctive saveBOARD aesthetic yet muted in white Ensured complete recyclability through saveBOARD's closed-loop system The result? A water-resistant, edge-tapeable carcass material that's 100% circular in design. Now this client and others can create fully circular joinery fit outs with saveBOARD across every component - from carcass to panels to benchtop. Initial market feedback confirms we've hit the mark: customers love the sustainability credentials without compromising on aesthetics or price point. #ClientInspiredInnovation #CircularEconomy #SustainableJoinery #InnovationByDesign
Raw board form so that joinery companies can buy it and work it as they would do generally ?
All you need to do now is target architects so they specify your product. If you don't have the architects on board you are restricting your sales to companies that design and build and self spec.
Well done! Brilliant idea!
It’s absolutely great to see that the potential for SaveBoard has been achieved with this board make up! I remember when I worked at Naylor Love, on our sustainability committee and saw the beginnings of board made from waste I had to get them involved to use the product. We promoted it mainly as an alternative lining and hoarding for our sites. I took us quite a while to get people to see the benefits to use a locally manufactured board that was not yet in full production, as the factory was still undergoing tests. Fantastic to see Paul, just wish I was still in a position to implement more of its use 😇
Awesome
Great product! How does the weight compare with mdf? Would like to use this in an upcoming project
Incredible stuff! Myself and the CFI team would love to work with this product in 2025!
