Gabriel Kay, a graduate of De Montfort University, designed the Osiris kettle to combat the UK's growing "e-waste tsunami." The kettle’s repairable design allows parts to be replaced easily with just two screws, promoting reuse over disposal. Each UK resident generates nearly 24kg of e-waste annually, and global e-waste is growing five times faster than recycling efforts. Items like unused cables and outdated gadgets contribute to this crisis, highlighting the need for sustainable design and consumption: https://loom.ly/HqvVQGY #r2certified #ewaste #ewasterecycling #erecycling #ITAD #circulareconomy

Moss Pure is partnering with Marie Claire UK and giving away two of our 100% LIVE moss wall art and air filters. Hurry and enter to win. Disclaimer: This is open for customers in the UK, Ireland, and Wales. The link is here: https://lnkd.in/eTuZFcHk. Do you know that other moss companies use preserved moss which is no longer living and treated with toxic chemicals? Preserved moss has several disadvantages - it doesn't last, it off-gases chemicals into your air, and it will need replacement within 1 -2 years. Moss Pure is the world's first and only company to use 100% living moss decor and art as a certified air filter and stress relief device. 1) Using innovative patent pending science, no watering, sunlight, or maintenance is needed. 2) And our products last indefinitely within our award-winning design. 3) Moss Pure is the world's only plant based and moss based company to have passing certified air quality results from a US laboratory. Every square foot of our scientifically engineered living moss air filter captures 30% of carbon dioxide daily (that's 73,000 ppm of CO2 per square foot!) and 1,500,000 ppm of pollutant particles daily, including dust, allergens, VOCs, toxic gases, odors, metals, bacteria, mold and viruses. I can't tell you how many people are letting me know that they're seeing moss walls in Boston and NYC - but they are preserved moss walls. Why go with preserved moss walls when Moss Pure provides the REAL plant and added value for the same price? For more information, please visit www.mosspure.com. The differences between Moss Pure's living moss vs preserved "moss" are below. #moss #mosswall #decarbonization #sustainability #livingwall #interiordesign #stem #entrepreneurship #business #innovation

Let's #crate a greener world, one #package at a time! 😊 As a company deeply rooted in the manufacture of #wooden #crates for packaging solutions, #sustainability isn't just a buzzword for us – it's the very essence of our business. 🌱📦 Wooden crates have been our go-to choice for packaging for a reason, and here's why sustainability is so integral to our operations: #Renewability: Wood is a renewable resource, meaning it can be replenished naturally over time. By extending the lifespan of wooden crates through reuse, we reduce the demand for new materials and minimize waste generation. #Cost-Effectiveness: Investing in reusable wooden crates can lead to significant cost savings over time. Unlike single-use packaging options, which require constant replenishment, wooden crates can be used again and again, reducing the need for frequent replacements and lowering overall packaging costs. #Versatility: Wood is an incredibly versatile material that can be used in a wide range of applications, from #tradeshow crates to #shipping crates to #packaging, the possibilities are endless. #Customizability: Wooden crates can easily be customized to suit different products, sizes, and shipping requirements. This adaptability makes them well-suited for reuse across various industries and applications, offering flexibility and scalability without sacrificing performance. 🌱 We invite you to join us in making a difference. Choose wood packaging solutions that prioritize sustainability. Together, let's #crate a greener world, one #package at a time! 🌳📦 #SustainableSolutions #WoodenPackaging #CratexIndustrialPacking #WoodenCrates

🌳 As we strive for #sustainability, wood often emerges as a go-to material. But is it always the best choice? 🤔 - Wood is #renewable and #biodegradable; but, #deforestation is a serious concern - Wood gives our spaces that warm, cozy vibe; however, vulnerable to moisture and bugs Two thoughts on wood that have been occupying my mind for some time: 1. Trees take decades to mature. Using wood from trees for quick-disposal items feels at odds with #circulareconomy principles. Won't this deplete our forest resources quicker than we think? 2. Wood often requires chemical treatment for durability. This becomes concerning when we use treated wood for kitchenware or children's toys. Are we inadvertently exposing ourselves to harmful substances? At Mynusco and eha.eco, we value wood as a crucial resource in our modern living. However, its use should not result in any negative impact on our environment and society. I'm curious what you all think. Have you found clever ways to use wood sustainably? Or maybe you've come across some great alternatives? Share your thoughts below! 👇 I'd love to hear your experiences and ideas! #SustainableMaterials #ProductDesign #EcoFriendly

Have you ever stood in an old building, feeling the chill seeping through the walls, and wondered how to effectively retrofit it with insulation? I’ve faced this challenge many times, and each project taught me something new about eco-friendly materials and techniques. One of my most rewarding retrofitting experiences involved a Victorian terrace where we used sheep's wool insulation. It's not only sustainable but also excels in regulating humidity and is naturally fire resistant. Installing it was straightforward—just roll it between the joists and secure it. Plus, it's non-irritating, making it a breeze to work with. For cavity walls, I’ve found that cellulose insulation, made from recycled paper, offers a fantastic eco-friendly solution. It’s blown into cavities, forming a dense layer that significantly improves thermal performance. Remember to ensure the walls are free from moisture issues before installation—it’s a critical step to prevent mold growth. So, next time you’re considering retrofitting with insulation, why not explore these sustainable materials? They not only enhance energy efficiency but also reduce your carbon footprint, offering a win-win for both comfort and the environment. https://lnkd.in/dCqj4_H4
