The thing about systems and structures... Over a year ago, I attended a business meeting where I was taught to put up my business on Google My Business as a way to gain visibility. Frankly, I didn't know its success rate or how to go about it, but I went on with the plan. Watched some videos and decided to go for it. At the time, I didn't put my number, so I didn't get any feedback from it for close to a year. But I was getting profile visits. Then one day, I got a dm on Google. Someone had already reached out but I didn't respond on time so I lost the client. That taught me something. It showed me that Google was bringing eyes to my business there and I needed to do better. So, I put out my number and that was when the miracle started😁. Of course, it's all organic marketing that Google is helping me to do. It's sweet oh, I won't lie. Especially when people reach out to me and tell me they got my number from "online". Once I receive this call, I know Google has done it again😁. Why this story?? There's something about setting up systems and structures, they keep running even when you're not there. You may see the need to set up your business on Google My Business or not, but take this as your cue to set up some structures in that your business. To your skill, add systems and structures, you'll be glad you did, later. 3 things higher ed marketers may not realize SEO can do for them: 1. Reach learners who haven’t yet decided to return to school, offering resources on learning, careers, and job advancement. 2. Help prospects and students find the RIGHT page on your site more quickly. 3. Better answer prospect and student questions by using search data to know what they are asking. Most marketers think of SEO specifically as being found when people search your programs (which is important) and overlook these 3 benefits / goals. Do you get these emails too? I was about to reply to this with a little rant about how no-one can guarantee a place on the first page of Google! And then I remembered that since the infinite scroll has existed, EVERYONE is on the 'first page of Google' lol 😂 However, someone emailing me claiming to improve my website's position in the search rankings that starts their communication with 'I found your details on Google...' makes me think 'if you found me then it can't be that difficult for anyone else to find me either!' That's what I teach my clients. How to improve their website's performance in the search listings WITHOUT tricks or gimmicks. It may take a little time, but it's time that holds it's value and sky rockets your business. Don't fall for the scams – seek the education to learn it properly from real people. p.s. how easily can you find 'Ladies Who Latte'?
