It was the first time for Sofia and Andrea, who experienced the professional environment and valuable insights that AIS offers. With 450 participants and 44 booths, we engaged in numerous insightful talks and built strong connections. 🌟   𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀 & 𝗢𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘀𝗺 📈 The market is stable but optimistic for growth by the end of 2024. 🌍 The US remains crucial, but Europe, particularly Belgium and the Netherlands, is also key.   𝗦𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁: 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆-𝗗𝗿𝘂𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗷𝘂𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 (𝗔𝗗𝗖𝘀) 📊 Significant focus on ADCs, evident from the many posters dedicated to this area. 🧬 Emphasis on developing both first-in-class and best-in-class therapies, showcasing strong innovation.   𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 & 𝗖𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 🤝 The conference fostered closer team bonds and valuable interactions with potential customers. 💬 The well-organized event and specific questions from participants highlight growing interest in our products and services.   The relaxed and approachable atmosphere, coupled with excellent organization, facilitated these interactions.🌐   𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 & 𝗟𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱 Overall, the conference highlighted the importance of strong relationships and industry connections. Amidst the buzz and fervor at the DPharm Innovation conference, key takeaways from the following three insightful presentations stood out for me. In his session on Addressing the Innovation Gap, Hassan Kadhim Kadhim of BMS spoke about the short 3- to 4-year window of opportunity for clinical innovation that results in only incremental innovations rather than the larger, sustained innovation we really need. How can we as an industry leap forward to meet the gap? Innovation, collaboration, and capabilities – including patient engagement! The next session was a panel providing investor views on what drives their decision-making on where to put capital in new technologies to modernize clinical trials. Going forward will require navigating through headwinds like investigator participation is decreasing while the number of trials remains high with increased complexity, increased amendments, and increased delays. How do we increase alignment between those that invest in companies trying to solve these real problems and the end users? Finally, Melanie Ivarsson OBE Ivarsson of Moderna and Andy Lee at Merck shared how the vision of integrating innovative science with operational excellence captured the essence of what we strive for at Legacy. At the recent SCOPE Summit Europe in Barcelona - an excellent event with really good sessions and some great people in attendance - I was once again pleased to hear so many of the speakers talk about the good things that are happening in the industry. I’ve mentioned before how it would be easy to come away from this type of conference thinking everything is right with clinical trials and the way they operate, then become disillusioned by observing what actually happens ‘on the ground’. But actually I do think there is a sufficient groundswell of opinion for change - not just for its own sake, but change for the better. Seeing examples of many of the initiatives that organizations within the industry are undertaking - including those from pharma, research sites, academic institutions, solutions providers etc. - left me with a sense that we are heading in the right direction. #clinicalresearch #clinicaltrials #clinicaltrial
