'Tached, Tattooed & Talented. Creative lead for B2B and B2C clients. Delivering Big Ideas and turning the boring into the unforgettable. All thoughts and ideas expressed are my own
At the moment, I love searching around places like Rightmove and Zoopla (part of Houseful) for properties. I'm in no position to buy (far from it) but I like having a nosy around to see what's on the market, and also to have a look at how people have decorated. It's quite therapeutic, adn I'm not ashamed to say my knowledge of how much a 3 bed semi-detached should cost in a certain area has dramatically improved. Now Rightmove was a personal favourite, but it was recently trumped by The Modern House. If you've never heard of them before, you're probably not the only one. But it's worth going and having a look around their website, it's a completely different take on real estate, and I absolutely adore it. Rather than just scrolling endlessly through hundreds of listings, the experiences fells so much more luxurious and exclusive. It's more like you're scrolling through a boutique agency's website than a estate agents website. They've married up the houses they want to sell, with the experience they want to provide and it's absolutely fantastic. In their own words, "The Modern House is an estate agency that helps people live in more thoughtful and beautiful ways". They focus on design-led homes that pay more attention to "light, space, materials and nature". Houses that may not be to everyone's taste, but are works of art in their own right. Properties with a history of architecture, and have stories of their own right. The best thing about it? They don't just have the experience on the website, every part of their social footprint, feels like part of the bigger experience. Going onto their youtube channel, you see stories from people that have bought houses through The Modern House. And they're not just fly throughs of the property, it's actual genuine conversations of why people love the properties they purchased. It feels authentic and it makes you feel more connected to the brand because if people are willing to go in front of the camera and tell their stories, then they must have had a positive experience. I'd highly recommend taking a moment if you can to scroll through the website and take in some of the properties. My absolute dream property is on there at the moment, but each of them are uniquely stunning in their own right. https://lnkd.in/eyiu5T9K

Senior Vice President @ Ashley Global Retail | Merchandising Executive, Business Development, Retail Expert, Sales & Go-to-Market Leadership
I am lucky to be able to get to lead a Sales Team at a leading home furnishings company with two terrific brands, a luxury outdoor furniture brand and a fast-growing design driven indoor furnishings brand (no secret…see my profile). One of the challenges our Sales Reps face, and they are truly terrific, is the balancing of time on the road visiting accounts, attending markets, solving problems, and answering question. Our Interior Design business is the “heart & sole” of our mission…yes, we sell to brick-and-mortar dealers, specialty showrooms, and eCommerce accounts as well as others, but our Interior Design customers drive our go-to-market thinking. We have probably overextended ourselves with the number of customers we work with, but Covid drove tremendous Designer channel growth because of people spending more time in their homes, a shift to work-from-home, and outsized demand. As a result, many Interior Designers have less time for Sales Reps, but they rely on them more than ever before. For additional insight, read “Less Time, More Trust: The Evolution of Sales Reps in a Changing Industry” written by Haley Chouinard, in today’s Business of Home. #homefurnishings, #furniture, #salesrepresentative, #interiordesigners

Hiring a new building for an office or warehouse involves several key steps: 1. **Define Requirements**: Determine your needs including location, size, budget, and any specific requirements such as loading docks for warehouses or meeting rooms for offices. 2. **Research Locations**: Identify potential areas that meet your criteria. Consider factors like accessibility, proximity to suppliers or clients, and local regulations. 3. **Engage a Real Estate Agent**: Consider hiring a real estate agent or broker who specializes in commercial properties to help you find suitable buildings. 4. **Visit Properties**: Tour potential buildings to assess their condition, suitability, and compliance with your requirements. Check for essential facilities and infrastructure. 5. **Evaluate Lease Terms**: Review lease agreements carefully. Pay attention to lease length, rent amount, escalation clauses, maintenance responsibilities, and any additional costs. 6. **Negotiate Terms**: Negotiate lease terms with the landlord or property manager to ensure they meet your needs and budget. 7. **Conduct Due Diligence**: Perform inspections to check for any issues or repairs needed. Review property documents, including compliance with zoning laws and building codes. 8. **Finalize Lease Agreement**: Once you are satisfied with the terms and conditions, finalize and sign the lease agreement. 9. **Plan Move-In**: Coordinate logistics for moving in, including setting up utilities, IT infrastructure, and any necessary renovations or adjustments. 10. **Compliance and Setup**: Ensure that the building complies with all regulatory requirements and make any necessary modifications to suit your operations. By following these steps, you can effectively manage the process of hiring a new building for your office or warehouse needs.

Alexandra Paris - Sales Consultant Melbourne • Explain your job: Working alongside Designers and Architects, my job is to assist them in finding the best set of furniture for their designed spaces. Seeing these beautiful projects delivered, featuring Stylecraft's products at their best suitability is what makes me passionate about what we do. I also love the social aspect of this role and seeing how my relationships have evolved with all my clients since I started. Each event or project delivery celebration is an occasion to spend time together and get to know each other better. The D&A community in Melbourne is a lot of fun! What is your favourite design trend? There has been a real comeback of the conversation pit (sunken living rooms) and that is something I am really looking forward to seeing more and more in designed spaces. They might seem best suited for residential spaces—although, how amazing would it be to see some implemented in workplaces, for brainstorming sessions or in breakout area—they encourage less screen time and more face-to-face interactions in any environment. Not only is it a good design element to enhance the community spirit, but it is a clever way to increase the overhead volume and make any room look vast and open. Favourite Stylecraft piece and why? There are so many beautiful pieces to choose from, but if I were to pick something for my home & that I would use everyday it would be the Reversivel Armchair by Martin Eisler. It is the perfect balance between a classical and a statement piece. I particularly love the experimentation that Tacchini has done on this chair over the years with bold fabrics patterns. This piece is so versatile, and can add so much character to a room! I also love the adaptability of the chair allowing for various seating positions, making the piece super playful. Explore: https://lnkd.in/gntns295 What designer (living or dead) would you invite on the couch for coffee? I would love to get a chance to meet with Charlotte Perriand, who was a French architect & designer between the 1920's & 1990's. She first started working alongside Le Corbusier for about 10 years, designing most of his interior spaces, and softening up his bold architecture by introducing natural materials (timber, leather, etc). All works were extremely well received, and this is also when she designed the iconic LC2 armchair which I love! After this collaboration, her career remained very successful, and I would love to hear from Charlotte on how she managed her success so early in the 20th Century as a female designer, and what it meant for her.

Insightful thoughts on how sales people have evolved in these uncertain times and the importance of relationship management!
Senior Vice President @ Ashley Global Retail | Merchandising Executive, Business Development, Retail Expert, Sales & Go-to-Market Leadership
I keep coming back to this article...thinking over and over again about the evolution of the Sales Rep role in the Interior Design industry. As designers are busier, they have taken on more projects and larger projects, have embraced digital technology, and work more on a remote basis...they depend on their Sales Reps more and more. As a matter of fact, the Sales Reps that are truly successful with Interior Designers, have in a way become part of the designers team. They have forged partnerships that run deep and are collaborative and consultory. B2B PR and ABM Specialist | Results-driven leader focused on elevating brands through strategic communications
Nothing irks me more than poor customer experience and service... A recent interaction I have been having with an online bathroom furnisher has proven to me yet again that your products can come in the most beautifully wrapped packaging and physically be some of the best stuff on the market but if your service and communications to your customers are poor, and their experience suffers because of that, they are unlikely to order from you again. "But why are you talking about bathrooms and customer service" I hear you say? And no, I've not done a career swerve and started selling loos and showers. My role in Seeblue is essentially customer service. For a very different set of clients, but the fundamentals remain the same. Clear and prompt updates. Open and honest communications. Come to us with your problems and we will do our best to solve them. If this sounds like something you'd be good at/enjoy, we have two roles open in my team right now. I'd be happy to have an informal chat first to answer any questions (or if you'd like to know about the normal % of bowing expected in a shower tray, I can fill you in on my recent bathroom furnishing escapades). #hiring #b2bmarketing #diysos
