Honoring Patients on World MS Day World MS Day celebrates the resilience of individuals living with multiple sclerosis and recognizes the invaluable contributions of their caregivers. Elevating the MS patient’s voice and their role in advocacy is more important than ever. Per the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, “[Patients] can help us improve access to healthcare by speaking out and demanding action so [they] and others affected by MS can live [their] best lives.” At Savvy, we’re committed to putting patients first throughout the clinical research development process. FEBRUARY IS CHILDREN'S DENTAL HEALTH MONTH! ADVOCACY OPPORTUNITY You may have noticed we are spotlighting the patient-family experience of impacts to dental and oral healthcare, and you're right! Children with HIE are at greater risk for certain oral health impacts, and in the context of disability, there is a significant disparity experienced by medically complex children and families to access the same care as typically developing children. You can help shape this research by filling out the survey below: https://lnkd.in/gu_XKTRy Dr. Matt Mara, DDS, a HIE parent, professor, researcher, dentist AND on our Medical Advisory Board, is working on a research project through Boston University as a part of his research in oral health disparities. More information is posted in our closed parent support hub, which can be accessed at: https://lnkd.in/gd-FSyCC #HopeforHIE #HIEresearch #DentalHealthMonth #HIE #HypoxicIschemicEncephalopathy #Research

Is this a joke? By eliminating restrictions, you mean adding restrictions? Disgusting gas lighting by a pathetic medical board. PTs in Alabama LOST the ability to evaluate concussion patients BECAUSE of this BS. Hey APTA, you promised your practitioners autonomy and direct access in return for us becoming doctors. Doubling our educational years and increasing the cost of school by 1500% since 1990. In 1990 PTs w a bachelor degree made 55K a year. 55K in 1990 is equivalent to 130K today, just adjusting for inflation. In 2024 the average DPT salary is 95K. AND, only 20 states have unrestricted direct access, NOT including AL. So, with double the education and a 1,500% education cost, PTs are making less than we were 30 years ago AND we r currently LOSING access. Maybe make your outright lies a little less blatant. This is absolutely disgusting. https://lnkd.in/gRTj-Tit
The elimination of severe restrictions on direct access to physical therapist services in all states was reached earlier this year when Alabama became the last holdout state to move to a provisional direct access model. Read more. #PTAdvocacy

Join us TODAY for our third and final mixer as we continue to identify gaps in the continuum of care that currently exist for patients suffering from substance use disorders. EMS and the emergency departments often encounter patients in times of crisis. There's often a lack of continuity on the road to treatment and resources that occurs. During this panel we will discuss how EMS and the ER can stand up this gap in services and help usher patients to appropriate resources. This is fast becoming a standard of care across the country, and we need to take a more regional approach here in southern Nevada to standardize our processes and policies. Come join us TODAY August 22, 2024 to be part of the discussion!
