Why is nobody talking about companies getting mad when candidates use AI in their interviews? Companies want people to be “tech savvy” and then get pissed they use the tools available to them. It makes no sense. If you don’t want people using technology when they work for you then okay, but don’t be upset when they don't, and you’re left behind. IMO candidates get points for using AI and then explaining how they did it. So my recommendation here is - do what works for you. Transparency is all you need.

Just did my first ever interview for a product role entirely with an AI bot interviewer (no human oversight, though there had to be some rubrics pre defined for the bot to nail covering in the questions), and it was not bad! I have to say, the bot interviewer was actually insightful about my answers and able to have a back and forth conversation based on my answers and understand nuance. It even had a personality (which is more than I can say for some human interviewers!). It made me think of how AI can help eliminate a lot of the interpersonal biases in interview settings, although it wasn't perfect in terms of understanding my accent etc. (accessibility features aren't usually prioritized first). Of course, it should allow typing instead of speaking for those situations. That being said, this is already a really promising use case. The future is already here. #genAI
