Why is raising the bed head by 30 degrees so important for critically ill patients? How to determine 30 °? The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in the United States recommends raising the head of the bed by 30 ° -45 ° as a routine nursing position for critically ill patients. Raising the head of the bed by 30 ° is beneficial for bedridden patients' breathing, and for patients receiving enteral nutrition through gastric tubes, it can also improve gastrointestinal peristalsis, reduce food reflux, and prevent aspiration; For critically ill mechanically ventilated patients, raising the head of the bed by 30 ° is an important measure to prevent ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP). Positional care has been elevated to a higher position in the ICU and has a more special significance for the rehabilitation of patients. #PatientRecovery #StateOfTheArt #HealingEnvironment
