'Professionals with a hybrid working arrangement are the happiest with their work patterns' according to a new report by @MorganMcKinley. 'A total of 59pc of them said they are willing to forego pay rises for flexibility.' As businesses grapple with the question of whether mandating a return to the office is the right approach, employees are very sure of their answer. The report also finds that more than half of workers who are onsite 5 days per week will look for a new job in the next six months. What does that mean for your organisation? ☑ If you are an employer with hybrid and flexible policies, make sure they are very visible in your advertisements. Employers offering these policies will get the most, and therefore the best, applicants. ☑ If you don't have clear hybrid or flexible policies yet, it's time to take a strategic look at your growth targets, talent acquisition and retention strategies, and short/ medium term risk register. Even companies who don't offer flexible working are likely to be impacted in a strong employment market. And if you feel there's a middle ground missing, talk to us about how Connected Hubs around the country are acting as the third space for many companies and employees. Interesting article. One brief line on the measurable impact of remote working by Gemma Dale . What of performance and energy levels both individual and collective, productivity, sickness rates, staff turnover and the true business need? Having a long lease on mostly empty office space and a “Homes Under the Hammer” mistrust of remote workers is not a business case for driving back to a full time presence in the workplace. If it’s the case that anslysis proves the business performs best with a higher level of staff attendance and there are options on flexibility, clearly set out, this “conflict” need not arise. In truth the more progressive employers are already well aware of the attraction of hybrid working when seeking talent. Those 63% of business owners suggesting they’ll be back to 100% in office presence by 2026 might need to rethink that goal. #remoteworking #hybrid #flexibility #employment #tribunal
