We're featured in a book! "Cassandra: The Definitive Guide," (3rd ed.), published by O'Reilly, had this to say about Scalar: "Techniques and technologies are available to address error cases such as service failure and data inconsistency. These include (...) Using a distributed transaction framework to coordinate changes across multiple services and databases. This can be a good approach when strong consistency is required. SCALARDB is an interesting library for implementing distributed ACID transactions that is built using Cassandra's lightweight transactions as a locking primitive." CEO, Scalar Labs, Inc. Inconsistent data undermines decisions, risks compliance, and in AI models leads to inaccurate predictions undermining trust in your solutions. Prioritize data consistency with Scalar.
"O'Rielly Books Frickin' Rule" - quote from a message board. When I was first learning about coding O'Reilly books were always by my side and now, I'm very proud to say that ScalarDB is mentioned in an "O'Reilly" book "Cassandra: The Definitive Guide". #database #cassandra #databasemanagement #innovation

Ever met someone who turned obstacles into opportunities? That's Vipul Vaibhaw for you! His unusual math background led to a passion for distributed systems & performance engineering. From data science to open-source contributions on Apache DataFusion-Comet, he's done it all. Now, Vipul runs 'Empowered Coder,' a cohort-based course reshaping tech education (neither for DSA and nor for getting 100% placements either). Ready to uncover how math meets tech in unexpected ways? Watch this exciting episode on his whole journey and some further updates soon. . . . . #mathematics #softwareengineer #dataengineer #opensource #apache #datafusion #resonatehq #empoweredcoder #rust #distributedsystems #scalability #performanceengineering #book #formalmethods

I look at the number of commits to Prodvana every month. I do this unabashedly in a DevEx world preaching DORA, SPACE, etc. I don’t use the commit graph to judge engineers. I use the commit graph to judge myself. I can see when good direction or poor direction is provided I can see if there are compounding effects of early good decisions on data models and toolchains. I can see the impact and tradeoff of GTM asks, like conferences on the engineering team. When interpreting this graph, I see an assessment of how I impact the team as a co-founder and one of the main drivers of the product. Keeping our processes and headcount steady has allowed us to examine the magnitude of waves and the wavelengths. A few things we can observe through magnitude and wavelength if we ask questions: 1. How well the data model is working 2. Scale questions on clarity of vision/direction 3. If we should continue with efforts if the wavelength is getting too long In ours, we're starting to get compounding effects after building the convergence engine. Wavelengths are shorter for large efforts, and the magnitude is beginning to increase. This tells us the data model is also really solid - data model changes are always the largest and scariest projects that impact everything. You can start plenty of great DevEx and ROI conversations from the commit-graph without setting up a new tool. #devex #developers #devops #sre #infrastructure #platformengineering
