Is #renewableenergy cheaper than #fossilfuels? "But a large chunk of the cost of net zero is driven by the last few percent of decarbonization. If you talk about, say, a 90% clean grid, the cost of achieving that using today’s technology is approximately zero. And this cost comparison excludes the external costs of fossil fuels: climate impacts, air pollution, geopolitical instability. Taking all factors of those into account, there’s no question that we can largely decarbonize today and end up with a better economy and cleaner environment." #climatecrisis

Let's pause électrification! Electric grid operators use SF6 gas which is about 24,000 times more potent than CO2 as a GHG. So all efforts to reduce GHG by reducing CO2 not only would be nulled, but we might be worse off. Politicians have been warned about climate change since the early 80s by scientists. With their good intentions, they've asked scientists how to not only stop climate change, but to reverse it. The answer came that we must stop CO2 emissions immediately. Remember that our climate is changing constantly, and we are trying to go back on time.. This is for another post. We should think this through more, and plan for the future. Climate is at a global scale, so should be our actions. CO2 is ONLY 0.04% of the atmosphere. There must be other low hanging fruit!
