Emulating #quantum computing can reduce the number of tests required to validate new drugs by 10-20 times, according to Robert Marino (left), CEO of Qubit Pharmaceuticals, the medical research company that notably uses Scaleway's GPU clusters to power its essential work. "Today, it makes more sense to simulate quantum computing than to use real quantum computers", said Sébastien Luttringer, Scaleway's Head of R&D (center right), invited to speak at Qubit's press conference yesterday in Paris. "So we give Qubit the computing power thet need to work on highly complex algorithms," he added. This power notably allows Qubit to analyze molecules like water with just 24 qubits (quantum computing's equivalent of bits) instead of over 400 normally. How? By using Hyperion-1, Qubit's own emulator, explained Jean-Philip Piquemal (right), the company's CSO, and Director of the Laboratoire de Chimie Théorique at Sorbonne Université. Christophe Jurczak, Managing Partner at Quantonation, also took part in the conference.
