Ulrika Lagerblad's journey from being a student to the Head of Strength Simulations at Scania shows her dedication to engineering. Her academic background and Scania's student programme led to her thesis and subsequent role as a Development Engineer. Ulrika's PhD research contributed to vehicle safety through fatigue and damage prediction, culminating in an algorithm validated by industry collaboration and laboratory experiments. “I find the subject interesting and can see the benefit of having these estimations and simulations. I see that I can contribute a small piece of the larger puzzle and make that contribution to science,” says Ulrika. Ulrika’s academic and professional journey, intertwined with her personal life, exemplifies resilience and balance.
