OUR BELIEF IN JUSTICE As police officers, we began our careers with ultimate faith in the justice system. Our years of service experience would justify that faith or cause us to doubt its efficacy. British Justice fails sometimes—we've all seen examples of this—but it works most of the time. Unless and until it is replaced with something better, it's all we have, so we must keep the faith that justice will prevail most of the time. The attached pdf contains a story that exemplifies those feelings. I do not apologise for the antecedents and length of the story, as it had personal consequences. ? Re: Part 2....was this visit the result of a priest calling police, as it is suggested..(which I highly doubt) ..or the current attitude and trend towards revictimization of the traumatized, amidst feeling helpless to address the rage which caused it? Would you feel moved to answer this reasonable question, or are you comfortable with deference in the face of misdirected action, instead of the admitted discomfort and sought assistance which comes from situational unfamiliarity and the daunting task of policing in the midst of a mob mentality?
