Read this if you're making the same mistakes over and over. 👇 While I've grown, stretched, expanded, evolved, shed, died and was reborn, there are still lessons that I am learning. (And I'm clear that I will continue to receive them until I really, really learn them.) I firmly believe in the old adage that we teach what we are here to learn. In this life, I'm teaching women to be the brightest, most joyful, most embodied versions of themselves. And yet... there are days when I don't feel so shiny myself. But rather than allowing the self-doubt and fear to consume me like it once did, I name it, acknowledge it, and feel through it. While the emotions still come, my reactions to them have changed. Old habits won't open new doors, sister. Old patterns aren't going to expand your soul. Like I said, we teach what we are here to learn... This is why I'm gifting you with TWO FREE live group coaching sessions with me this summer. When you order your copy of my new book THE LIGHT WORK, you'll get a link to register for these live calls, direct to your inbox. 🌟 Follow the link in the comments below to order your copy and claim these coaching calls along with other epic bonuses! So today, try something different. Try something that allows you to shed an old layer and shine a little bit brighter. #feminineleadership #coaching #growthmindset

Ever notice how some people just have that personal touch? How they relate to others and perform their work is different. They highly value relationships and community, and it makes them better at what they do—especially if they’re educators. Tune in to Scott E. You've probably heard the advice before to be proactive rather than reactive. It's really a no brainer. It's much easier to prepare than to repair. And yet, it's easier said than done. "Emergencies," crop up (that could be prevented), people hijack your time (and keep you from the work you want to focus on), and then there's your own personal challenges to stay organized and focused (sometimes we're our own worst enemies smh). So in on this week's episode, I'm going to walk you through the hidden reasons why being proactive is so hard, and give you some practical strategies you can use to be proactive and set yourself up for success this school year #LikeABuilder: https://lnkd.in/eG4NuQHe _____________________________________________________ As Chief Builder for Mindsteps, Inc., an internationally recognized author, keynote speaker, and professional developer, I build and deliver content to help K-12 administrators turn their schools into success stories. #SchoolLeadership #EducationalLeadership #PrincipalLife #AssistantPrincipal #SchoolImprovement #EducationMatters #InnovativeLeadership #K12Education #FutureOfEducation #SchoolLeader #Principal #SchoolPrincipal #ProfessionalDevelopment #LikeABuilder

Aging is more than frailty, wrinkles, and physical changes—it’s a time to give back, to remain emotionally fulfilled, and to feel useful. Yet, for many, it’s easier to be an Ebenezer Scrooge: successful but isolated, self-involved, and hoarding both possessions and emotions. But what if our true purpose is to share our wisdom and skills—ensuring we don’t "burn down the libraries" of knowledge and values we’ve built over a lifetime? I spoke with Designing Your Legacy, host Angelina Carleton. We explored how a legacy is more than a name etched on a building. While finances and material things matter, it’s the intangibles—our wisdom, mentorship, and connections—that truly define how we’re remembered. Key highlights: What makes a good mentorship relationship? How can mentorship bridge generations? Why mentoring for free can be one of the most rewarding ways to give back. Listen in for actionable strategies and inspiring stories—starting with a simple yet powerful tool: the ‘Legacy Tree’. Start building your legacy today. 🎧 https://lnkd.in/e--k8bSi #Mentorship #Leadership #Legacy #TheMentorProject #GenerationalWisdom #GiveBack

A Quick Pause from the 12 Days of Coaching Today, I’m interrupting my regularly scheduled programming for a public service announcement: Live into integrity. Last week, two people expressed surprise when I followed through on something I said I would do—not because they doubted me personally, but because they’ve grown accustomed to people not following through. Here’s the truth: When you consistently do what you say you’re going to do, you build trust. This is especially powerful for children, who are always watching and learning from our actions. Trust isn’t just about others, though—it’s about you, too. Living in integrity means aligning your actions with your words. If for some reason you can’t follow through, take responsibility, explain why, and show you’re still committed. This isn’t about perfection; it’s about authenticity. Here’s the best part: When you trust yourself, you build confidence. Confidence fuels bold action. And bold action moves you toward your dreams. So, go forth with integrity. Be bold. And most importantly, trust yourself—you’re worth it. #liveinintegrity #boldliving #TrustYourself #PersonalGrowth #highperformancehabits #authenticliving #intentionalaction #certifiedhighperformancecoach

What are your intentions for the week? This week I am intentionally going slower and focusing on 2 things 1 - I loved this quote from Susan David on Instagram this morning "Small deliberate tweaks infused with your values can make a huge difference in your life." So rather than making huge changes I'm focusing on small deliberate tweaks that are aligned with my values. 2 - I'm still pondering the idea of closing loops from David Allan's book Get Things Done. I think it fits with point one. My small tweaks this week are going to be about closing loops. I'm also looking forward to coaching my clients, my Elevate and Live Life with Impact Groups, day 2 of NCVO Training, meeting Carla Miller in real life and finishing off (aka closing a big loop) all the behind the scenes stuff for something very exciting coming up in June. #smalltweaks #closedloops #valuesled #mondaymotivation #weeklyintentions

2moGreat message, Scott. All community members need to hear and embrace this idea. Teachers, coaches, administrators, and board members invest talent, passion, and skill to support students and schools. Community members make everyone stronger by celebrating the Awe moments.
