Today is #RegisteredDietitianNutritionistDay! Registered Dietitians are experts in food and nutrition. Dietitians work to assist the population in making positive food choices to promote health and prevent disease using scientific research, nutrition guidelines, behavioral science, and social science. In order to earn their credentials, RDNs have received a bachelor's or master's degree, completed a supervised practice experience, and passed a national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). RDNs are also required to complete continuing professional education requirements in order to maintain their credential. Dietitians work in many settings, including healthcare (hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities), sports nutrition and corporate wellness programs, food and nutrition-related business and industries, community and public health settings, universities and medical centers, nutrition research, and private practices. You don't need to be sick to meet with an RD! Some common reasons you may want to consult a dietitian include: you're pregnant, trying to get pregnant, or are a new parent; you or your child have a food allergy or intolerance; you are wanting assistance in repairing your relationship with food; you are looking for practical lifestyle advice; you or your child want to improve your performance in sports; or you're interested in creating healthy family meals but you're not comfortable with cooking. One great motive to seek the help of a Registered Dietitian is you'll receive evidence-based nutrition information personalized to YOUR health goals and needs!

Helping high performing, ambitious leaders achieve peak performance without burning out through nutrition and lifestyle coaching | The CEO Nutrition Method 1:1 Programme- £1500 | Corporate Wellbeing Speaker
❓So what does a nutritionist actually do ❓ As a nutritionist most people assume that I only work with weight loss clients or people who struggle with food allergies. Actually the range of symptoms I see in my clinic is extremely varied - from mental health to digestive issues, hormone imbalances to poor sleep. My job is to work out what the root cause of their symptoms is. This means assessing and questioning how all their body systems are working as everything is interlinked. We don't have symptoms and systems that operate in isolation. But also appreciating their full health history, what were the twists and turns along the road that got them to where they are now. It is also about understanding each individual's current capacity for change and their mindset- often we need to spend time reframing how they look at food, at their body, at themselves and appreciating their body's ability to be well and to fire on all cylinders without burning out. In each case I need to give the client the space to discuss these areas, which can sometimes be difficult if symptoms have been chronic, but also to ask the right questions so we can join the dots between what's happening in their body and why. And then to create a personalised plan to support their body to heal and rebalance. I see myself as an educator, a guide, a coach but most of all a listener. #theceonutritionist #theceonutritionmethod #nutritionaltherapy #healthcoaching

📣 Empowering Parents & Debunking Weight Loss Myths🌱💪 Last Saturday, I had the privilege of conducting two health talks, each addressing vital aspects of nutrition and well-being. The first talk revolved around the critical subject of children's nutrition. Spanning a comprehensive two-hour duration, we delved into crucial topics such as fussy eating, food allergies, and nutrition for children with ADHD. Recognizing the significance of engaging participants, I endeavored to create an interactive environment where questions were encouraged and knowledge was shared collaboratively. I am immensely grateful to all the passionate attendees who displayed a genuine interest in enhancing their understanding of children's nutrition. In the second talk, we explored weight management and chronic disease prevention for adults. Amidst the ocean of misconceptions surrounding popular fasting and dieting trends, I aimed to dispel the myths and shed light on evidence-based strategies. My primary focus was to emphasize the significance of adopting a holistic approach to healthy eating. By encouraging attendees to nourish their health with the right foods in appropriate quantities, we fostered an environment of self-care and long-term well-being. Seeing the enthusiasm and receptiveness from the audience was incredibly inspiring, and I am grateful for the opportunity to empower individuals on their journey to optimal health. #HealthTalks #NutritionMatters #EmpoweringWellness #HolisticHealth #HealthyLiving #TransformativeJourney

WIC has long been a vital, evidence-based public health program providing nutritious supplemental foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding support and immunization screening. Yesterday, Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack announced updates to the WIC food packages that further enhance the program. The changes will provide participants with a wider variety of foods to support healthy dietary patterns and allow WIC state agencies more flexibility to tailor the food packages to accommodate personal and cultural food preferences and special dietary needs, making the program more appealing for current and potential participants. We commend USDA’s Food and Nutrition Service for using the latest nutrition science in the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, 2020-2025 and the recommendations from The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine to support equitable access to nutritious foods during critical life stages. https://lnkd.in/epAErEUM #WIC #DietaryGuidelines #nutritionpolicy #nutritionscience
