𝗞𝗔𝗟𝗬𝗘𝗦𝗞𝗪𝗘𝗟𝗔: Where there's a thirst for knowledge, the streets become our classroom. 📚🏙️ Teaching on the streets isn't just about education; it's about empowerment, resilience, and the unbreakable spirit of our street children. Truth and Reconciliation I had no idea about residential schools, hundreds of unmarked graves (estimated at 3,200) and I had no idea the last residential school was closed in 1996. I didn’t know my classmates’ parents were subjected to this. I didn’t know the intent was to convert Indigenous children; to strip them of their culture, values and social behaviours and to “Westernize” them. I was not well-educated or knowledgeable. What’s the solution? How do we reconcile? I have no idea. But I expect it is not simple, easy or quick. Listening, learning and educating might be a good place to start.

Pharmaceutical Sales Leader - Regional CHE Manager I Regional Business Manager I National Sales Excellence Manager I Key Account Manager I Coach
You are not alone. This sadly is the reality for many Canadians. Shameful and deliberate part of the systemic racism present in our great country. We can no longer say we don't know, this is a huge and positive step forward. So now what? Tim you are correct, listening, learning and education is a good place to start. I would add, shift from nonracist to antiracist, encourage your workplace to implement this into policy/culture. The difference is one may understand the situation, the other understands and acts on it to make change. Try these two sources below for more information and paths to reconciliation and support for Indigenous Peoples.
