Employee Spotlight! Please meet Julia Kysar, our Senior Cost Accountant! What do you do here? I am the Senior Cost Accountant. I spend my day working on all things inventory and cost of goods sold (COGS) and whatever other projects come my way. How long have you worked here? I’ve worked here for 2 years. I started in July of 2022. What is your favorite item in your home? My favorite item in my home is my Ninja blender. It’s probably one of the coolest inventions. I can shred carrots, mix cookie dough, make salsa, and puree strawberries all with one machine. What are you watching or listening to currently? I’m not currently listening to anything, but one of the most recent audio books I listened to was “The Memory Keeper’s Daughter” by Kim Edwards. Tell us about a time when you turned lemons into lemonade. A time that I turned lemons into lemonade was when I begrudgingly went fishing with my husband for the first time. I learned that, unlike my hometown in MN, you can find some really pretty scenery at the lakes here in the PNW! Now I don’t mind tagging along with him as long as there will be a pretty mountain or something cool to look at when we get there What are you currently working on? Currently I’m working on the inventory transition from Pixior to GXO. Since there’s so many moving parts and manual processes, I’m working on getting all our ducks in a row for July month end. What is your favorite product? My favorite Schoolhouse product is the Popcorn Grid Coverlet. That’s the most recent purchase I’ve made and I love how it is the perfect weight for summer!
