We are officially one week out from DBU Giving Day! Giving Day is our annual 24-hour fundraising event that allows you to directly impact the lives of DBU students. These funds go directly to student scholarships, athletic teams, departments, colleges, and the areas of greatest need around campus. Your gift enables us to achieve our mission to provide Christ-centered higher education to students from all walks of life and continue to produce servant-leaders committed to transforming the world. Here is how you can partner with us on Giving Day to support DBU: 1. Go to dbu.edu/giving-day on May 2nd 2. Select the area that you are most passionate about (if you are not sure, we recommend donating to the area of greatest need) 3. Choose an amount that you are comfortable with (every single gift counts) 4. Complete your donation and watch as your generosity transforms lives 5. Spread the news and encourage others to participate! As we approach May 2nd, we encourage you to consider your role on this important day! Mark this date on your calendar or make a gift early at dbu.edu/giving-day.

💡 This Giving Tuesday, let’s close the achievement gap in education! 💡 As a parent of twins in the NYC public school system, I’ve experienced how challenging it can be to navigate the system and ensure every child has access to the resources they need. I’ve also seen how inequities in education can hold kids back simply because of where they live or the resources available to their teachers. That’s why I’m proud to serve as a facilitator with Inspiring Educators, where we work to empower school teachers and administrators with tools, training, and strategies to transform their classrooms and communities. This work helps bridge the achievement gap and gives every child a chance to thrive. This Giving Tuesday, I invite you to support this mission. Your donation can help expand programs that uplift educators and create lasting change for students everywhere. Every dollar we raise goes directly to the IE Equity Fund, providing grants and scholarships to make our training accessible to high-need, underfunded schools, districts, and organizations. Three ways you can support IE during this season of giving: 1️⃣ Donate if you are able. We have secured a match on all donations so every dollar will be DOUBLED! https://lnkd.in/eUXbdGE9 2️⃣ Spread the word. Share our posts on here to remind your network of the essential work that educators do every day and the urgent need to support them. 3️⃣ Connect us to new friends and supporters. Do you know someone who would be excited about our mission and interested in supporting it? Put us in touch or send them this link: https://lnkd.in/ejbfgQ3K Oh... wait, there's a 4th thing. 4️⃣ Thank an educator. Always, always, thank an educator 👏 💛 #GivingTuesday #EducationForAll #CloseTheGap #InspiringChange

EDvance College provides a phenomenal model of learning through work for early childhood educators. Learners earn college credit toward their degrees for their work caring for children in their local licensed ECE programs, and use their workplaces to practice the skills they learn in the classroom. The program is designed to support economic mobility for ECE professionals by validating and growing the knowledge they come with. It’s an earn-and-learn model to note, and I’m proud to be a board member. Check it out! #AllLearningCounts
Today, we have launched our very first individual fundraising campaign! 🎉 Our goal is to raise funds to provide our students with institutional grants, helping early childhood educators graduate debt-free and empowering them to become the next generation of educators, mentors, and leaders in our communities. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to ensuring that these passionate future teachers have the support they need to succeed.🙏💙 Please click the link below to learn more or donate: https://lnkd.in/gWXgNx3r

How to recruit 6,500 teachers? Our new analysis, funded by the Gatsby Charitable Foundation, suggests that the Government would need to increase teacher pay by nearly 10% a year for three years to reach their 6,500-teacher manifesto commitment, if using pay as a sole incentive This would cost £7.7bn per year from 2027/28. However a combination of more cost-effective approaches, such as bursaries and early career retention payments, plus improvements in non-financial factors such as teacher workload could mean that the target is reached. Together we can make a difference
Dorika Foundation Extends Support to Bolero Secondary School Students Following the successful launch of the Dorika Foundation, we have continued to receive generous donations from our supporters. Recognizing that the resources allocated for the launch were sufficient, the Board of the Dorika Foundation has resolved to utilize the remaining funds to support four form 1 students (2 Boys and 2 girls) at Bolero Secondary School who are facing challenges in paying their tuition fees. This need was highlighted by the representative of the Headteacher of Kawaza Primary School during our launch event, where he earnestly appealed for assistance in supporting education in Kawaza. In addition to covering tuition fees, the Foundation is providing these students with essential educational materials, including books, pens, and uniforms. While we are pleased to assist these four students, we are acutely aware that many more are in need of support. Due to our current limited resources, we are unable to extend our assistance to all deserving students. Therefore, we earnestly call upon our community and well-wishers to provide additional support, enabling us to reach and empower more students in need. Your contributions can make a significant difference in the lives of these young learners, fostering education and hope within our community.
