On April 22, 2024 the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission amended the technical regulations of the Customs Union "On Food Safety" and "Food products in terms of their labeling", which relate to the possibility of releasing food products into circulation without changing their labeling in the event of a change in the details of the location of an organization or individual entrepreneur who is its manufacturer (person authorized by the manufacturer, an importer). The amendments were proposed by the Republic of Kazakhstan in connection with appeals to state bodies of food producers who faced the problem of the need to replace the labeling of food products in the case of renaming a city, region, street, etc. According to the amendments made to Article 39 of the technical regulations "On food safety", within 36 months from the date of renaming the city, region, street, etc., indicated as the details of the address of the location of the manufacturer of food products (authorized by the manufacturer, the importer), it is allowed to release food products into circulation with an indication in the labeling of such products of the previous the names of its location, provided that the actual geographical location and the actual place of production remain unchanged. At the same time, article 4 of the technical regulations "Food products in terms of their labeling" provides for possible ways to bring reliable and up-to-date information to the consumer about the location of the manufacturer of food products (a person authorized by the manufacturer, the importer). The entry into force of amendments to technical regulations is envisaged 180 days after the date of the official publication of the decision of the EEC Council. The IFS Food v8 has been successfully benchmarked by #GFSI. Since the first version of IFS Food was published in 2002, all IFS Food standards have been benchmarked. IFS can look back at over 20 years of work at the highest international food safety level, and we will continue consistently down this path. At its meeting today, the IFS Board welcomed the renewed benchmark and thanked everyone involved for their professional work. IFS - International Featured Standards is an international network of food safety and quality experts, and the IFS Food standard reflects this global expertise of suppliers, food services, retail, wholesale, and certification across all continents and cultures. More than 20,000 IFS Food certificates in over 100 countries show this global acceptance. It is the understanding of the IFS Board that this global network is the basis for IFS to continue growing. I would like to thank everyone who contributed to developing IFS Food 8, especially the members of the IFS Board, the ITC, our various Working Groups and the IFS Team. Also, special thanks to Chryssa Dimitriadis , who successfully managed the benchmarking process. #foodsafety #food #quality #foodsafetyculture

The latter are now demanding safe, quality products with as much information as possible", he states. He underlines how much the IFS Progress Food program supports his company in developing its processes, improving its food safety culture and building trust: "According to our experience, having our company's quality standards granted by the assessment helps us to gain better insights in our processes. By assessing all the inherent risks, we can identify where we can improve and contribute to improving control in food safety. This allows us to be more competitive towards other companies in the sector and allows for greater trust in the relationships between suppliers, producers, large distribution chains and the end consumer." Commenting on the re-branding of IFS Global Markets to IFS Progress, he said: "The new name, IFS Progress, emphasises the main aim of the program, which is to prepare the company to reach higher levels of demand through powerful control over its system, a strong document base, and a culture of constant improvement. All this will ultimately be reflected in a safe and high-quality product."
