Great lessons to absorb from this informative #webinar hosted by @NewIntelectualsNetwork Isidora Kolar on the media campaign of #Argentina’s President #JavierMilei by his creative friend and publicist @SantiagoOria. Quick summary take away on lessons learned — which can be applied to not only candidate campaigns but to issue campaigns as well. 1) Having an infrastrucuture in place boosts a campaign quicker; 2) Effective use of social and digital media proves that an outsider (David) can beat the establishment machine (Goliath); and 3) The Anti-Vote can be mightier sword (or chainsaw:)) than the Pro-Vote. #NewIntelectualsNetwork #LibertyMovement #NonprofitLeadership #LeadershipInsights #LessonsLearned #Milei #MileiCampaign #Argentina #Liberty #Freedom Alexander McCobin Linda Schulte Francisco Gonzalez Alex Chafuen Lorenzo Montanari Pablo Dono Jonas Torrico Stephanie Lips Izabela Patriota Kevin Comer https://lnkd.in/eVfKyuhc

Exactly. Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it. Macron, together with other world leaders, have become knee-jerk talking heads, with no sense of history or of what war is. If not for the cruelty of war in the 1940s, he and his family would be working for Nazi slave masters. William Tecumseh Sherman, the general who burned Atlanta to the ground and helped win the Civil War, famously said: "War is cruelty, and you cannot refine it; and those who brought war into our country deserve all the curses and maledictions a people can pour out. I know I had no hand in making this war, and I know I will make more sacrifices to-day than any of you to secure peace." This war was forced on Israel by #Hamas, #Iran, #Hezbollah, the #Houthis, #Syria and other enemies of #Israel and the free world. As with the #Nazis, once a war is forced, there is no choice but to win it. Israel does more than almost any country in history to mitigate the cruelty of war, but war remains cruel. If the world truly wants to stop the suffering, it should relentlessly work with #Israel to demand that #Hamas return the #hostages safely, lay down their arms, dismantle their terror tunnels and rockets and agree to have a technocratic government installed and overseen by an international coalition. #warishell #hamasmurderers #hamasrapists #hamaskidnappers #hamasbarbarians #hezbollahterrorists #iranaxisofevil #radicalislamistbarbarians #antisemitism #enemiesofcivilization #standwithisrael #standfordemocracy #standforcivilization

TRUTH AND COMPASSION Bel Trew, war correspondent for The Independent, reflects on truth, perception, the collapse of discourse, and the media in the conflicts in Ukraine and in Gaza, in a profound talk curated by Katerina Biliouri and Stephanie Igunbor for TEDxBerlin. A few quotes below (full video https://lnkd.in/dqJcHd5C). Bel will be part of a session I will host at the House of Beautiful Business’ "Between the Two of Us" gathering in Tangier in early May (https://lnkd.in/d3TmmjTS). "If you load up my social media feed right now, it’s like experiencing frighteningly different alternate universes. Even if we weed out the trolls and those who cling to the extremes of reality, everyday’s normal people’s experiences of major news events are so frighteningly different, that they make you question if there is a reality at all. We live in a world where there are thousands of ways to communicate, yet we have completely forgotten how to speak to each other." "The divisions are so fundamental they are almost existential. One person’s perception of reality cannot exist alongside someone else’s. Whole communities are being otherized." "For so long [as a journalist] I lived by the maxim 'the truth will set you free'. But as I went from horror to horror, from war to war, I realized that sometimes the truth was a bit blurry. And if we only peddle our own truth, we’re in danger of not seeing all sides of the story - as difficult as it is sometimes to reach across that divide." "It is staggering to see what humans can do to humans. Increasingly these images [of brutal violence] are met with likes, smiling emojis or messages of encouragement." "The violence has morphed into a complete inability to hold our own pain and yet see the suffering of others. It has polarized us so much that we cannot imagine there being another side of the story, let alone that there might be a humanity to it. It is a world where it becomes an extremist position to call for a deeply-needed humanitarian ceasefire." "Only truth and compassion *together* can set us free." (Posted 9 April 2024) #BGreadingnotes
