Understanding the basics of qualitative research Before taking a deep dive into the complexities and nuances of qualitative research, it is important to understand its basics. It is important to test the waters on the surface before you dive deep into the ocean. Why? Because the deeper you go, the more indivisible and convoluted the mass of the water. I have seen students approaching qualitative research with a complexification mindset, as opposed to simplifying concepts. They attempt to gain mastery over certain methods and approaches without first understanding the basic philosophy of qualitative research. No wonder they get lost in the weeds! Over the last 10 years, I have curated some interesting content on YouTube and now have 43 videos on a variety of research topics and approaches, including phenomenology, IPA, grounded theory, IPSE, etc. I am sharing a YouTube presentation that I uploaded 4 years ago, entitled, "Demystifying Qualitative Research: Making up for Lack of a Boilerplate." Regardless of whether you think that you understand the basics, I would encourage you to view this video.

Looking to elevate your research papers and make a real impact in the #scientific community? Here are 3 basic hacks that can transform your approach👇🏻 ⚡️Outline Your #Research: Start with a clear outline — think of it as your research GPS. It keeps you on track, highlights what's missing, and makes sure you don’t veer off course. ⚡️Keep It Clear: Drop the complex jargon and switch to an active voice. It’s all about making your ideas easy for everyone to get. ⚡️Build on What’s Been Done: Build on the foundation of previous studies. Cite relevant #essay to strengthen your arguments and engage in the broader scientific conversation. Share your own experiences with Aithor and let's discuss how we can further improve scientific communication!

Founder/CEO of Kainaat Studios, and Professor of Integrated Science & Humanities, Hampshire College, Massachusetts
Nisse Greenberg and I have been doing a series of interviews about science communication. Here is the latest episode, where we talk to the director of Econnect Communications, Jenni Metcalfe. She not only communicates science, but she also does research on the effectiveness of science communication. She has also served as the president of @PCST: The Global Network for Science Communication. Hope you find the conversation and a deep dive into these issues useful. #science #sciencecommunication https://lnkd.in/ek_RGYVG

Insightful Session on Science Communication Training for Researchers DAY2: Making Research Findings Engaging for the Media, Policymakers, and the Public Today’s webinar with Charles Wendo highlighted the importance of making research relevant and engaging for wider audiences. Key takeaways included the need to address societal problems, use simple language, and present findings in a way that is both credible and timely. Researchers must convey the key message, unique aspects, and societal relevance of their work briefly and clearly to grab the attention of busy policymakers and journalists. A big thank you to CABI for organizing this fantastic 5 days training! Effective communication can help research influence policy, boost citations, and drive societal impact. I am looking forward to tomorrow's session. #ScienceCommunication #ResearchToPolicy #ScienceForSociety #MediaEngagement #CABI #ImpactfulResearch #PolicyInfluence

Conveying complex scientific research to those unfamiliar with technical jargon can be challenging. To maximize impact, researchers must present their findings in a way that’s accessible to the general public, ensuring their work benefits a wider audience. #ScienceCommunication #ResearchForAll #PublicEngagement #SimplifyScience #ImpactfulResearch
