What's something you're most proud of in your career so far? “I have a very varied career background with years spent in clinical development, medical affairs and search and evaluation across an array of therapeutic areas. This helps me to evaluate opportunities from different perspectives. Opportunities need to be scientifically sound, there needs to be an unmet need, someone will need to be willing to pay for it, and one needs to be able to enroll the clinical studies. I'm proud of having built many well-functioning teams in my career, some from scratch.” 🎤 What are you most excited for in your new role? “I'm really excited to work with everyone at Longitude to make well-informed decisions while looking at a lot of interesting science and data. Ultimately, we want new companies to be successful in developing good treatments for diseases with high unmet need.” #venturecapital #womeninVC

Relationships are highly important. They are the lifeblood of our business both internally and externally. 🤝 I am grateful to be in the business of building life-long and meaningful relationships with my clients and finding ways to help advocate for them and find solutions to help them move their research forward to the patients who are waiting. Earlier this week I received an amazing text from a former colleague to let me know that he had been promoted, and that he appreciated my relationship with him in helping him earlier in his career. He put in all the hard work and effort! He made it happen! ⭐ The text put me into literal tears of joy. (Yes, it is okay for a grown man to admit they cry). We are in the people business and the Life Sciences Industry is full of so many incredible professionals who go to work each day in the pursuit of science so that new medicines can be discovered and brought to patients who are waiting for them. The passion and care that I see each day helps drive my relationships and the desire to support people who are making great science! 👩🔬 #CRO’s are there to support and be a partner in your drug discovery efforts, and I am happy to be surrounded by people who feel the same way in trying to get #NCE’s to patients smarter and faster, and helping them be successful in the clinic. 👨🔬 #drugdiscovery #relationships #businessdevelopment

👩🏻🎓🎓 I am happy to announce the completion of a new certification: 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀 by #johnshopkinsuniversity 👩🏻🎓🎓   Throughout the 4 modules, I learned how to define terms related to bias, randomization, and masking, and to identify errors in randomization procedures in clinical trials. Among others, I acquired a comprehensive understanding of the analysis and interpretation of various types of hypotheses, the application of the basic elements of a consent document in a clinical trial, and the identification of different recruitment tools and strategies.   What a great way to start the year. Clinical research is filled with key opinion leaders and experts, but it's also filled with longstanding problems and entrenched ways of thinking. Obviously there are nuances in this industry and the way we do things - but too often I think we incorrectly assign what is dogma to be nuance. Which in turn doesn't allow us to effectively compare the potential solutions to our problems. "This is how we've always done it" = dogma ≠ nuance I see this in participant recruitment, hiring, site feasibility, and so many more operational workflows across the study lifecycle.
