Well done to Xuyu Liu, Ivy Guan and team! Such fascinating and important research. 🥦❤️ The three-year world-first study has found a common vegetable eaten by millions of Australians every day can prevent and treat one of the nation’s biggest killers. The pre-clinical trial confirmed that a natural chemical found in broccoli can reduce the formation of harmful blood clots that can in some instances lead to stroke, as well as improve the performance of clot-busting drugs afterwards.
I am thrilled to announce our breakthrough with broccoli-derived sulforaphane enhancing clot-busting treatments has been featured on the front cover of ACS Central Science! A shining example of how healthy eating can lead to groundbreaking science. School of Chemistry Sydney University; Heart Research Institute (HRI); Drug Discovery Initiative
