The previous government funded LocalGov Drupal, now 47 UK councils collaborating on open source web publishing tech and practice. Building once rather than reinventing the wheel, raising standards for all. It can be done. Good luck, excited to see how this develops

Important Department. Essential to maintain leadership in UK Tech.

Excellent, I'll have a virtual computer engineering lab, a group of scientists and artists, we shall explore the exceptional long list of innovations lost to the patent office. Links to every university, multidisciplinary, a public forum, media platform, transparency, no truthiness. Obscure garden shed, innovators the retired phd scientists can contribute to an open source public platform. Public funding very little public engagement.

Talk to Will Callaghan!!! I’m proud to say I’ve had a long career in LG and have always supported the development of digital for the benefit of customers, and budgets that can be re-invested in other front line services. I’ve lived through many disappointing attempts to introduce digital success. Too big, too much, too top down! What I saw in Brighton and Hove was the best I’ve ever seen, proven since as LocalGov Drupal has been adopted by so many councils with the vision to build once and share often. TechResort are also working on some gnarly issues that will help with this agenda. Don’t reinvent this wheel, it’s already round and perfectly formed. Talk to Will Callaghan, he’s nailed the model.

Glad we can all get back to work. Watch out for the UKTIN paper on Standards. DSIT is helping to restore the UK to its position as a top global leader in technology.

Eradicating child poverty should be biggest priority for the UK government. This shared mission will bring together all political parties. I would like to thank Scottish Government for including eradicating child poverty as a key priority. https://www.gov.scot/news/first-minister-welcomes-prime-minister-to-bute-house/ I am looking forward to see what steps the Scottish Government and UK Government will take for eradicating child poverty. As most of our space-sector educational work is ultimately government funded... I'm really interested to see how the new minister will help maintain progress we've made in recent years with promoting STEAM careers and making those from disadvantaged backgrounds consider they might have a place in the growing UK space sector. Keeping my fingers crossed!
