This is what innovation is really about. Addressing a real-world problem with a new approach that is built to operate at a commercial scale. With UVEX, treatment can be made in the wind or rain, no drift, no residues, no withholding period, no diesel, no spray chemicals and no operator. Not just clean fruit, a clean operation and lower costs. #GrowSmarter #ShiningaNewLightonPlantHealth
🌟 The day is finally here, we're Shining New Light On Plant Health! 🌟 We're thrilled to announce the release of the revolutionary UVEX at the Agri Automation Site D79 at Fieldays! Phil Bicknell, Director at CIEL, says The Oxford Farming Conference (OFC) has always been a beacon of inspiration and this year was no exception. He shared some of his key thoughts from OFC: “The conference highlighted the power of diversity with speakers sharing their personal journeys. These stories inspired and underscored the conference's aim to not just inform, but also to inspire. “The politics session did not disappoint either. With the government's emphasis on ‘public money for public goods’ and the recent announcements on Sustainable Farm Incentive actions, it’s clear that sustainability remains central to future agricultural policy. The additional focus on supporting agricultural technology adoption is a welcome move, especially in the context of our discussions at the Agri-Tech Centres breakfast reception. “Andy Richardson's insights on food innovation were particularly striking. Innovation in agriculture isn't limited to products or technology; it involves innovative approaches to systems, processes, and mindsets. This resonates with my perspective that Agri-Tech extends far beyond drones and robots, encompassing a wide range of innovations across agrifood supply chains. “A special mention must go to Prof David Hughes, whose insights into the agrifood world are invaluable. His comprehensive coverage on various topics provided plenty of food for thought for everyone in our industry.” If you attended the Oxford Farming Conference, tell us below what your highlights were 👇 #OFC24 #AgriTech #SustainableAgriculture #Innovation

Dairy farming faces a significant challenge in managing hoof health, particularly with the prevalence of lameness caused by digital dermatitis🐄 HOOFCOUNT LIMITED, a leading UK provider of automatic footbaths, recognised the need for a more proactive approach to hoof health. Hoofcount embarked on a two-year project to develop a cutting-edge lameness detection system, named Pedivue. This innovation was made possible through a £250,000 grant from UK Research and Innovation as part of Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs's Farming Innovation Programme. “Utilising the dairy centre and the resources at the UK Agri-Tech Centre has provided an excellent controlled centre for further development of the device with validated data capture.” - Anthony Marsh, Director, Hoofcount ➡Read more here: https://ow.ly/8XE850Tgj47 #connect #inspire #grow #adopt #resilientsystems #intelligentagriculture #acceleratingagritech #agritech #agribusiness

🐛🐛 Last post and a summary from the #IFW2024 from Manna Insect team Ykä Marjanen and Saverio Danubio. We didn't participate 2022 or earlier, but talking to many veterans the mood has shifted definitely from academic interested to "making business". Lots of conversations were about getting into realism on expected price levels, becoming profitable, and so on. Also many research presentations were much more concrete and helpful for direct commercial usage than earlier. We are still lacking the ecosystem players and collaboration that is standard in other agrisectors. Most are still doing "everything" from biowaste to selling BSF meal, and even proprietary tech, which is not how other agrisectors work. However, we are seeing more openness and activity on collaboration and forming support ecosystems for insect farmers. The good news is that we are going to right direction as become a mature business oriented industry, with less about hyping and more about hard value propositions. Two years is a long time, so we are eager to update this summary after Torino IFW2026. Also I would like to see IFWx event in #Africa for 2025. Africa has its own way of using #BSF and I think it will hugely significant on helping the continent becoming more independent on food production. The whole industry should go there and learn how BSF doesn't really need that much tech (more education though) around it to make an impact. P.s. If you didn't catch my update post from IFW2024, please go and check it out with lots of pics and insight. #blacksoldierfly #larvae #agrifood #agritech #insects #animalfeed #animalprotein #agriculture #BSF #protein

The issue we face is monumental: Over 815 million people go to bed hungry every night, a stark contradiction in a world where around 1/3 of all produced food is wasted or lost each year. This strong mismatch not only underlines a huge problem in our global food distribution and preservation systems but also leads to annual economic losses amounting to a staggering $1 trillion. These inefficiencies represent not just a missed opportunity to alleviate global hunger but also a significant drain on our resources and economies. Recently, I had the opportunity to speak at the Munters Leadership Boost event, an inspiring gathering that brings together thought leaders and innovators from across Munters. It was an honor to speak about a subject close to my heart: the transformative impact of #ai and #digitalization on agriculture and the #future of farming. In my talk, I talked on how cutting-edge technologies like AI and #machinelearning are redefining what's possible in agriculture, how digital tools are increasing efficiency, boosting crop yields, improving resource management, and ultimately leading to more sustainable farming practices. The focus was not only on the #technology itself but on how it empowers farmers, enhances food safety, and ensures a more sustainable approach to feeding the globe. The future of farming is here, and it's digital. By harnessing the power of AI and digitalization, we're not just transforming the landscape of agriculture; we're ensuring that it can meet the demands of the growing global population while maintaining the health of our planet. I am incredibly proud to be part of Munters, where innovation and sustainability are at the core of everything we do. The Leadership Boost event was a testament to our collective commitment to not just embracing change, but leading it.
