In San Francisco last week on Juneteenth, a group from the LSB headed out to volunteer with A Home Away From Homelessness. The local, non-profit organization strives to break the cycle of homelessness and hopelessness for young people in San Francisco and Marin. Our team rolled up their sleeves to do yardwork and planting, preparing the organization's Beach House for visiting groups this summer. At the Beach House, small groups of children from shelters in the area get the chance to explore nature, hike, have a picnic, play games, and go to the beach. We share efforts like these to thank our teams for handling their local communities with care and building opportunities for others. It's all part of how we do good while doing business.

OMI Cultural Participation Project is committed to artistic & cultural excellence in San Francisco District 11, and providing resources to those in need. With the high cost of living pushing many vulnerable individuals & families to the brink and onto the streets, we recognize the need for safe & secure housing, and basic necessities to help stabilize our community. As homelessness continues to rise citywide in San Francisco, and especially in our community, our goal is to create a network foundation of support and compassion with our community partners, providing hope and a new start for those who have fallen on hard times. Together we can create a ripple effect of compassion and generosity that reaches far beyond what we can imagine. By joining forces and rallying support for this cause, we're not just offering temporary relief; we're planting seeds of hope and empowerment. Every donation, no matter how big or small, has the power to transform someone's life. It's often easy to underestimate the impact of a simple act of kindness, but for someone in need, it can mean the world. Your support could provide shelter, nutrition/ meals, or essential resources that can help someone rebuild their life and regain stability. Let's come together and be the beacon of hope that lights the way for those in need.

2010 – TAUW Launches Community Collaborations In 2010, A Way Home for Tulsa was named the first Tulsa Area United Way Community Collaborations initiative. Community Collaborations foster cooperation among local non-profit organizations, business and industry, foundations, and government and educational institutions. One organization rarely has the capacity to adequately address a community-wide issue on its own. Collaboration promotes effective solutions for those in need and raises the efficiency of agencies that provide services. A Way Home for Tulsa is a collective impact of over 50 voting organizations that exists to plan and implement strategies that support a system of outreach, engagement, assessment, prevention and evaluation for those experiencing homelessness, or those persons at risk of homelessness, within Tulsa County. Donating to support widows can have a profound impact for several reasons: 1. **Economic Stability**: Widows often face significant financial hardships, especially in regions where women have limited access to economic resources and opportunities. Your support can help them achieve economic stability. 2. **Education and Empowerment**: Donations can fund educational programs, vocational training, and other initiatives that empower widows to become self-sufficient and improve their quality of life. 3. **Mental and Emotional Support**: Losing a spouse can be emotionally devastating. Charities and organizations often provide counseling and community support, which can be crucial for mental well-being. 4. **Social Justice**: In many cultures, widows may face discrimination and social exclusion. Supporting them can help fight against these injustices and promote equality. 5. **Community Development**: Helping widows can have a ripple effect, benefiting their children and communities by fostering a more stable and inclusive environment. 6. **Humanitarian Compassion**: Donating is an act of compassion and solidarity, showing that you care about the well-being of those who are vulnerable and in need of support.

Did you know that over 38,000 young people aged 15–24 years presented alone to a homelessness service in 2022–23? Of these young people, almost half experienced mental ill-health, and over one-third experienced domestic and family violence. Most of these young people needed short- or long-term accommodation, and most were turned away due to a lack of capacity. These statistics only scratch the surface of issues that young people experiencing homelessness face. To have statistics like this in a country like Australia is not acceptable; together, we can have a tangible impact, and now is the time to act. #wehavetodobetter #YHMD
