Our UK team recently held a Mental Health Awareness Week where we took meaningful strides in our efforts to foster a culture of support and understanding amongst our teams. 👥 Our team of Mental Health First Aiders stood ready to lend a listening ear and provide guidance to those in need. Thank you to these team members for their dedication to promoting mental well-being! 💬 We were also honored to host Luke Barrow from Two Pints Deep, a men's mental health community and anonymous messaging platform. The insightful talk shed light on the importance of addressing men's mental health and resonated deeply, inspiring the team to continue to break down barriers and encourage open conversations about mental well-being. Additionally, one of our own team members openly shared their personal journey with mental health challenges. Their courage and vulnerability sparked meaningful dialogue and reminded us of the strength in seeking support. 🚶♀️ The MHFA team also organized a "wellness walk and talk" where we embraced the healing power of nature while engaging in meaningful conversations. At SC Johnson Lifestyle Brands, we make a collective commitment to prioritize mental well-being; supporting each other, fostering empathy, and championing a workplace culture that values mental health. Together, we can make a difference.

🌍 European Mental Health Week 2024 🌍 As we observe European Mental Health Week 2024, let's take a moment to reflect on what impacts our mental health and how we can make a difference. This year's key messages focus on involvement, co-creation, and support: 🔹 What impacts your mental health? Understanding the factors that influence our mental well-being is the first step towards better mental health care. 🔹 If YOU were involved in decisions regarding mental health initiatives, what would you prioritise and how? Your voice matters. By involving those with lived experience in policy-making, we can create initiatives that truly meet real needs. Co-creation is an approach that prioritises real needs and inspires responsibility and shared accountability. When professionals and people with lived experience work together with respect and equality, everyone benefits. You are not alone. Collaboration between professionals and those with lived experience fosters a supportive environment where respect and equality prevail. Co-creation: Collaboration. Respect. Equality. Let’s make it a reality together. By working together, we can build a future where mental health initiatives are effective, inclusive, and empowering. Join us this week in promoting these vital messages and advocating for a more inclusive and collaborative approach to mental health care. #EuropeanMentalHealthWeek #CoCreation #MentalHealthMatters #Collaboration #Respect #Equality #YouAreNotAlone https://lnkd.in/e7mGWZt8

In this #EuropeanMentalHealthWeek we join Mental Health Europe in highlighting why co-creation is crucial for building a better future for mental health together: 🟢 Co-creation means different people working together towards one purpose: better mental health for all. 🟢 The knowledge of people with lived experience, their supporters, professionals, and decision makers is valued equally. 🟢 The best actions in mental health are about people’s real needs. That’s why people’s voices matter 🟢 Co-creation inspires responsibility, trust, power, and shared accountability. 🟢 Let’s promote positive mental health, design paths to recovery, and improve mental health care and social inclusion together, with the meaningful involvement of each of us. 🟢 The easiest form of co-creation is working with those around you! If you and your community were to be involved in decisions regarding mental health initiatives, what would you prioritise and how? 🟢 Doing with is better than doing for. We are #BetterTogether. #StigmaFree #PutPeopleFirst

July is National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month, a crucial time to shine a light on the distinct challenges faced by racial and ethnic minorities in the United States regarding mental health. This month is dedicated to amplifying voices, breaking down barriers, and fostering understanding and support within our communities. Mental health is a vital part of overall well-being, yet many in minority communities encounter obstacles such as stigma, lack of access to culturally competent care, and systemic inequities. By raising awareness, we can work together to dismantle these barriers and ensure that everyone, regardless of their background, has access to the mental health resources they need. Let's use this month as a catalyst for change. Engage in conversations, educate yourself and others, and advocate for policies that promote mental health equity. Together, we can create a more inclusive and supportive environment where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. Remember, your voice matters, and your mental health is important. Let’s stand united in our commitment to a healthier, more equitable future for all.

Everyone deserves good mental health 👌 But if you're going to talk the talk, then you've got to walk the walk too. 🚶♂️ And with over half (53%) of UK Gen Z consumers believing brands that advocate for better mental health 'do it for show', there's a real danger of promises around mental health simply becoming empty words. This Mental Health Awareness Week, we're doing our best to take positive steps forward for our team, by: ✔️Creating a dedicated mental health resource space on our new Intranet, which all the team will be able to access ✔️Planning regular staff surveys, so our approach to supporting mental health keeps evolving and meeting our team's needs ✔️Empowering our qualified mental health first aiders, Emma Lewis and Katherine Hawkley, as well as James Montgomery, who completes his qualification in June Our co-founder, Jodie Williams, said: "Good mental health cannot be overstated - happier teams lead to happier, well, everything! Ultimately, Pod is our people, so making sure they have the right support in place will always be our top priority." #MentalHealth #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek
