"You’ve built your tower strong and tall. Can’t you see it’s got to fall, some day." Song lyric - Townes Van Zandt Will colorblindness prevail and we will all be equal and in equitable relationship? Or will our national civil war, now a cold one, progressively become hotter until a final conflagration settles it all? (Please let us win that one.) Or maybe the browning of America will deliver the end of white supremacy when the white populace shrinks below a numerical majority in our democratic nation. All these currents are at play in our present time. We believe that building anti-racist multiracial community offers a path to restructuring the relationship of race in our lives in this country. And we believe that multiracial communities need to stand on the two pillars of justice and relationship. That’s all you really need to know before coming to the conference. If you are looking for an entry point into this work, then we will be delighted if you choose this conference. https://lnkd.in/e5JG64FN

Social Scientist | Planning, Economic Development, Housing | I help government, companies and social service agencies improve the quality of life for their residents.
Remember the time when the "new towns" initiative - funded by HUD- was working to support the building of 'Soul City'? Me neither! But I think many of you may find this work informative, and worth a look. Especially those focused on community building through an infusion of housing, education, economic development, health care, and safety. Watch below.

Australia, a nation forged by migrants (myself included) fleeing war, conflict, and poverty now grappling with significant labour shortages and a housing crisis, which is polarizing views. There's no denying that migrants have been and will continue to be integral to the solution. Watch IOMs new DG, deliver an inspiring address to the Australian Press Club and the encouraging followup questions by journalists probing these issues. Hopefully, more nuanced perspectives will follow to foster a broader, less politicized debate aimed at comprehensive solutions to the migration challenges we face today- https://lnkd.in/gr5ZFUtv

BComm(Hnrs) Banking and Investment Management Graduate, Aspiring CFA💰MATHEMATICIAN🎓Active Investment manager
We need a second session. Could you include all necessary parties including our President, Minister of Finance, Governor and local investment gurus in such discussions? It is truly insightful and shows the country's trajectory as heads clash in fierce truthful battles like this. It is not only about the lives of dear Zimbabweans but rather a platform for financial and legal minds to present their own opposing views and quarrels on the issue of resource-economy-political inclusion and I truly enjoyed this session. I however stand firm with Nigel MK Chanakira on his assertion that the political risk premium has to be regulated, controlled, and monitored. Obtaining investments is only minimal due to the highly disregarded and ignored political risk aspect. Zimbabwe is blessed with resources that can project growth and GDP per capita to exponentially significant numbers if investors' risk-to-rewards ratio is maintained adequately. Beautiful informative Discussion indeed 💣
Due to public demand we bring you the Full Big Victoria Falls Debate.
Full Debate. Chris Mutsvangwa, Tendai Biti and Nigel Chanakira In Conversation With Trevor

Executive Leader | Equity Advocate | Founder of Porch & Okra Consulting Dedicated to creating inclusive, equitable futures and transforming work environments in the hospitality industry and beyond.
This week the second Equity at Work: Hospitality Cohort Launched supporting hospitality organizations specifically hotels who will undergo equity audits and develop equity work plans… examine culture, hiring and career growth, power dynamics, diversity and inclusivity and more. In this two year journey MiNO foundation will support Beloved and engage with cohort members to offer additional resources and address acute issues and wins. Amanda Seales posted this video this week and This quote below from Barbara F. Walters at the 9min35sec mark really was inspiring. Beloved Community is a partner of @minofoundation in this work to create better thriving workplaces in the hospitality industry. Beloved Community has the tenet that people change systems and the quote below echoes an example of this. Walters is referring and gives an example of what occurred in South Africa with choosing profit over Apartheid. Walters says, “The business community can also help address identity politics by investing in those communities that have been left behind by globalization and by free-trade agreements like NAFTA. In the United States, it was the working class that disproportionately suffered. Those are the communities that are the most angry and the most resentful today…Businesses can invest in better health care, better education and a higher minimum wage so that they create a group of people who are hopeful about the future and less vulnerable to the calls by extremists to burn the system down.” #equityinhospitality #peoplechangesystems #minofoundation #barbarafwalters #tedtalk #belovedcommunity

The playback is posted. Edward Dodson, creator of the School of Cooperative Individualism (see the amazing resources at cooperative-individualism .org), discusses Henry George, 19th Century political economist (only Mark Twain was more popular as a speaker), and the prosperity that is always unleashed when land values are taxed. We also discuss Ed’s three-volume work, THE DISCOVERY OF FIRST PRINCIPLES (“… the case for the … universal moral principles that must serve as the basis of law if law is to be just.”) https://lnkd.in/dGFCzJ4a
