The medals of the next Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024 have been unveiled! Whether they are gold, silver or bronze, they will all contain a very special piece of metal that was once part of the Eiffel Tower. Cut into a hexagon, the geometric shape evokes France to the point of becoming its nickname. Also on the same side, thin lines are projected at irregular intervals all around the iron hexagon. Struck rather than engraved, these rays bring relief and shine to a medal that is far from smooth. More information here https://lnkd.in/eRZn98tR Following this announcement, let’s have a look at the medals of the previous editions, thanks to our OSC Reference Document on Olympic Summer Games medals. Available on the Olympic World Library here https://lnkd.in/eRaBMEbv, you will discover each medal, illustrated by a photo of its obverse and reverse, and with a description of the design and the technical details. This document is part of our OSC Reference Collection, accessible here https://lnkd.in/eQ5mkNqV. So many great stories have come out of Paris Olympics 2024. This wins the losses Beautifully portrayed by every athlete. Arshad Nadeem - the man who made the greatest record in javelin throw, without any support from his government, coming from a very underprivileged family. Andrea Spendolini Sirieix- finished 6th in Olympics but secured a top position at winning in life. Because for her, the win was the fact that she had the courage to continue participating at Olympics when she had no motivation, zero confidence and zero will to fight because of her earlier setback. Yusuf Dikeç - who lost at 2 Olympics straight and then secured a win at #olympics2024 that looked like the effortless win but was backed with his consistency and the will to shoot again. These are just 3 great stories but each story is more about perseverance commitment strategy sincerity hard work Sacrifices Than the ‘win’ All of these things are building blocks of achieving your business goals as well. Be it growing the business Sustaining its growth Expanding in a new market Or even just starting from scratch and scaling it. Your consistency may take longer to reap results but with right strategy it will give you results. #silkroadheritage #olympics2024 #financialconsultancyfirmUAE #businessgrowth.

Beyond the Podium: The True Essence of Athletic Motivation Recent research challenges our perception of Olympic medals. While bronze medalists often appear happier than silver, the story goes deeper. A comprehensive study reveals that winning is just one piece of the motivational puzzle for athletes. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀? ✅ The sheer joy of physical exertion, the thrill of social bonds, and, surprisingly, a strong family orientation. ➡️ 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗮 𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗶𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗽𝘂𝗿𝘀𝘂𝗶𝘁𝘀. So, next time you watch sports, remember: It's not just about the medal. It's about the holistic fulfillment of fundamental human desires. This perspective might change how we view 'success' in athletics and beyond. #IntrinsicMotivation #AthleticPsychology #ReframingSuccess"

Research on Olympic athletes suggests an interesting phenomenon: bronze medalists often report being happier than silver medalists. While silver medalists tend to dwell on narrowly missing gold, bronze medalists are more often thrilled to have earned a place on the podium. What a great example of re-framing!

This first post Paris Olympics week is still carrying the buzz of excitement and inspiration! What was it about this Olympics that had many of us at hello?! Paris’ historic beauty is undeniable. In collaboration with the greatest sporting event on this planet, it was the first Olympics with full gender parity and delivered across 32 sports many magnificent moments, heartbreaking defeats, moving stories of the athlete’s pilgrimage to get there, fun entertainment (Snoop Dogg did not disappoint!), excellent “play by play” coverage and unity. For all of the upheaval in various parts of the world, the ability of the global sports communities to come together in respect and support, even in the throes of intense competition, was a master class in how to do it. -Lift one another up and celebrate the achievements -Learn from the experiences -Recognize the generations of Olympic athletes who came before and paved the way to be better, along with the competitors who pushed the level of performances to the highest and best in the moment -Appreciate all of it and the village of people who were an integral part of the journey While there were issues; some that could be quickly addressed and resolved, some that required an alternate plan and others that are still smarting from a questionable decision, the 2024 Paris Olympic Games captured our heart's and broke many records. #ParisOlympics #WaytogoUSA #lovewhatyoudo #teamwork #healthandwellbeing #LA2028

“The most important thing in the Olympic Games is not winning but taking part; the essential thing in life is not conquering but fighting well.” - Pierre de Coubertin Let's get inspired by the thousands of athletes in the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics. Let's bring a bit of that Olympic spirit into our business lives for the next 16 days. Here are my top 10 Olympic Gold Medal principles: 1- Let's train hard, and play fair, effort matters. (No cheating) 2-Let's set big goals and chase them hard. 3- Embrace teamwork – we win and lose together. 4- Let's celebrate wins but be humble, and learn from our losses. 5- Push our limits – growth is outside the comfort zone- My favorite 6- Respect your competitors – sportsmanship matters. 7- Stay focused and disciplined daily. Need more of this in my life 8- Face challenges with courage and strength. 9- Let's lift each other up – we rise together. 10 - Let's show some gratitude – Let's appreciate every opportunity ! Let the Games Begin! 🚴🏽♂️ 🏊🏃🏻♂️ #olympicgames #winning #paris2024

Paris Olympics 2024 is 111 days away. It's going to be one of the most unique Olympics ever because... This is probably the only Olympics where athletes had less than 3 years to prepare for it. Olympics is usually a once-in-four-years kind of a tournament, but that won't be true for this version of the Games. One year in an athlete's life means way more than in a normal person's for many reasons. They get one less year of practice to achieve all the goals they had set for themselves, they get one less year to find their peak performance, and so many more. But sports is the greatest leveler there is, so the one less year of practice holds true for every Olympian who will showcase her talent and hard work at the greatest sporting event on earth. That's why you will find many elite athletes across the world right now (including Indians) who will be very picky in the tournaments they play in the coming weeks. They might also be struggling to find their peak fitness, both physical and mental. Can't wait for the biggest sporting spectacle to begin! #Paris2024 #Olympics

Watching the Olympic Games and reflecting on their origins tied to the legends of ancient Greece... According to myth, the games were initiated by Idaios Daktylos Herakles, and later celebrated by Herakles, the famous demigod, in honor of Zeus, the king of the gods. These mythological roots highlight the divine inspiration and reverence that surrounded the early games, imbuing them with a sense of striving for the impossible and achieving greatness through divine favor. In fact, the Olympic Games, first recorded in 776 BC, began in the sanctuary of Olympia in Greece. These games were more than just athletic contests; they were events that created unity among the city-states of ancient Greece. Held every four years, the games included events such as running, wrestling, and chariot racing. Both the mythological and historical aspects of the Olympic Games underscore the incredible resilience and determination of athletes, time and time again. This ancient spirit of pushing beyond one's limits and achieving the unachievable continues to define the modern Olympic Games, embodied by the Olympic motto, "Citius, Altius, Fortius" (Faster, Higher, Stronger). Every time I've met an Olympic athlete, I've been inspired by their presence and laser-sharp clarity. The resilience and determination displayed by Olympic athletes serve as incredible examples for us all. Just as these athletes push beyond their limits to achieve greatness, we too strive daily to harness our inner strength to overcome challenges and reach our various goals—though with far less visibility (and perhaps, thankfully so!). The spirit of the Olympics reminds us that with perseverance and dedication, together, humans can achieve greatness and inspire others to do the same. Below is a photo from the first modern Olympic Games in Athens, Greece, in 1896. A crowd estimated at more than 60,000 attended the opening day of competition to watch approximately 241 male athletes compete. In 2024, a crowd of 15 million visitors is expected in France to watch a diverse group of 10,714 athletes compete! #OlympicSpirit #Leadership #OlympicGames #CulturalHeritage #GlobalUnity #Paris2024 #Olympics2024 #ParisOlympics #CitiusAltiusFortius #Paris2024Olympics

Paris 2024 Paralympic Medals vs Olympic Medals🏅 What’s the difference between the Olympic and the Paralympic games medals? While the front sides are similar: • Both were designed by Chaumet and minted by Monnaie de Paris. • The middle has a piece of the Eiffel Tower cut into a hexagon, the geometric shape of France. The Paralympic medal’s reverse side differs from the Olympic version: • The traditional symbols of the goddess of victory, Athena and the Acropolis are replaced by the Eiffel Tower. • The design shows a low-angle view of the Tower’s base. • The words “Paris” and “2024” frame the Tower’s pillars. • These words are inscribed in Braille, symbolizing accessibility and honoring Louis Braille, the French inventor of the writing system. . Visually impaired athletes can distinguish the medals by touch - lines are engraved on the medal’s edge: I for gold, II for silver and III for bronze. Why the difference of imagery for the reverse side? (Athena vs base of the Eiffel tower) I’m not sure. What do you think? Which design do you prefer? Reference: https://lnkd.in/eah67BXN

Paris 2024: The incredible story behind the Olympic and Paralympic medals The athletes who will compete at the Olympic Games Paris 2024 now have an extra motivation to reach the podium: in addition to bringing home a gold, silver or bronze medal, they will also take a small piece of Paris with them, materialised by a section of the Eiffel Tower integrated in each one. It all began with a rather special brief. Bring creativity and poignancy to a classic yet essential object symbolising the Olympic and Paralympic Games. But how can the medal be even more special? Is it possible to go beyond the traditional with something as classic and long-established as the medals? The answer: yes. By including a piece of France inside – literally. Chaumet, the French jewellery house, used its world-recognised expertise to take the concept to another level in order to magnify the idea, make it shine and give life to something that could have been ridiculous, but turned out to be quite special. This time, the designers didn’t have to deal with a timeless diamond or a ruby, but a material that had aged. They decided to think of it and work with it: the Eiffel Tower, at the centre of an exceptional jewel. Each medal made for Paris 2024, revealed on Thursday 8 February, has an original piece of the Eiffel Tower in it, and it comes with a supporting certificate of authenticity.
