Bredec Group Bredec Group Ask HN: Why isn't there an LLM chat for learning a foreign language?: Everyone agrees that the absolute best way to learn a foreign language is immersion. And nothing beats constant exposure to conversing in that language. A recent discussion here on Duolingo even validates that. So...how/why hasn't LLM completely upended this market? If I had a Spanish LLM that I could converse with (either spoken, or text) for an hour a day I'd likely get WAY more mileage out of it then a gamified UI full of badges and leaderboards and artifice. --- Comments URL: https://lnkd.in/gBsKaHPQ Points: 1 # Comments: 1 info@bredec.com Inquiry@bredec.com

Language Technology/DEIA • AI Ethics • Consultant • Industry Strategist • Global Speaker • Author • Investigative Journalist • Working hard to bridge the gap between silo'd industry sectors. ;-)
Introducing (drum roll...): #NoLinguistLeftBehind We all need moments to digest and refocus. The ATA Language Technology Division leadership has done just that. What are our motives? (Not "what," but "who"!) We care about our profession, our industry and our colleagues. In fact, we LOVE this industry, what it accomplishes, and the role we play. You will be seeing more focus on this in coming months, but for now, rest assured that we hope to help and encourage EVERY LAST LANGUAGE PROFESSIONAL (who WANTS to be helped and encouraged) to capitalize on current and future career options in this very volatile time. Period. To that end, we are proud to announce our new slogan and hope you will use it to spread the word: #NoLinguistLeftBehind Daniel Sebesta Karen Leube Blaise Hylak Andy Benzo Viktoryia Baum Claudio Cambon Robert Sette, CT Anne Chemali Bob Makovei Jessie Doherty Rachel Pierce Jose Palomino-Perez American Translators Association PS My apologies that this particular imagery is not more inclusive... but hopefully, the point is made. Delete "man," insert "linguist"!

One thing that polyglots do differently… Disclaimer (Just in case!): Not all polyglots do this and this is not the only thing they do. With that said, let`s say that again. One thing that people - who speak several languages – do differently. They simplify things when learning a new language. In other words: they are not afraid to use simple expressions. This way, they get a lot of precious speaking practice right from the start. Just because you don`t have the exact/perfect/appropriate word, you can still choose to speak - especially in an encouraging environment. Don`t forget: To get something different you have to do something different. 🗣️🗣️🗣️ If would like to talk, please hop on my calendar for a complimentary 30-minute conversation. The link will be in the comments. Your English will thank you for it! 🗣️🗣️🗣️ #business #innovation #creativity #strategy #empoweryourenglishvoice Image by Pexels.
