IT WAS Jonas Salk who suggested that if all insects on Earth disappeared, within 50 years all life on Earth would end, however, if all human beings disappeared from the Earth, within 50 years all forms of life would flourish. The irony, of course, is that we wouldn’t be here to enjoy it. We are loving being involved in such an incredibly challenging, fast moving, growth industry as we attempt to encourage biodiversity into our cities. If only we didn't sometimes feel the sword of Damocles hovering somewhere overhead. But there again if he wasn't there, we wouldn't feel the urgency. Another irony. Scotscape Urban Greening
Philosopher as well as successful entrepreneur... what next? 😀 Love it. Keep up the good work!
New walls, please.
Not all civilisations are damaging to biodiversity. Ours is, and so many others have been. But those who created and expanded Oases across North Africa and the Middle East have had a very positive impact. So too did native American people's in the North West who expanded and shaped the Great Plains. Homegardens have had a dramatically positive impact on local biodiversity for thousands of years across South East Asia. We need to be careful not to think that we are the measure of all humanity. There are different ways to live, we need to learn a better way than ours.
What a disappointing statement-saying that we are not part of nature! We are indeed part of all nature and we have the ability to rectify wrongs. It is our imbalance that is wrong!
I genuinely LOVE this Angus. You are building and planting hope.
Excellent. If you would like to be interviewed on Constructive Voices shoot me a DM.
Wow, that wall 😍 I would like to know more about it… how it was built, maintenance, … it is amazing.
Lovely, a turtle dove flies out to harken a new green world! Love the rich textured biodiversity of the plants!
What a beautiful oasis of nature in amongst alm that sterile brickwork 🥰🙏🏻
