Employees are ditching the beige and injecting personality into their #workstation. Take Xiao Qin from Hangzhou, #China, who transformed her space with a collection of blind box figurines worth a cool 10,000 yuan (USD1,400)! While this trend boasts potential benefits – increased comfort, motivation, and even office camaraderie sparked by conversation starters like Xiao Qin's figurines – is it all sunshine and rainbows? There are definitely drawbacks to consider. Overly decorated spaces can be distracting for some employees and even clients visiting the office. Companies embracing this trend might need HR to work on guidelines to prevent unprofessional displays. For me, the concept of a personalized workspace takes on a different twist. Since 2009, my trusty luggage case has been my workspace! I rarely show up at the office, preferring to set up base directly at clients' or partners offices. It may not be decked out with figurines but it's definitely personalized for productivity. Working hybrid has its own perks. 🌸 We have our workplace at the most beautiful co-working space, Maria 01, and we mostly operate in a hybrid manner, which actually improves efficiency.
