As many of you know, I do like to write things. And on the occasion of our recent approval, I had some thoughts. It took a while for me to get them out as last week was a whirlwind of emotion and meetings and travel and celebration. But I finally did. Instead of putting them in print, however, I decided to just say them (warning: this may exceed the MTD of Sam for most people). Finally, for everyone who sent a lovely note, thank you. I read every single one.

Love this. Drug discovery & development really is like multiplying numerous fractions together — even with the best science/mechanism, incredibly well-characterized chemistry & amazing x-functional development teams brimming with all sorts of know-how Hence, the low likelihood of overall [technical + clinical + regulatory + commercial] success. Arguably one of the most challenging human endeavors & why those framed FDA ‘APPROVED’ letters with one’s own name on it are so darn rare.
