Be You, Do You – Authenticity Matters Authenticity is powerful. Pretending to be something you’re not is exhausting, draining, and honestly, not worth it. Be what you can and want to be—what you’re capable of—and that’s what will bring you happiness. Don’t let others decide who you should be or how you should behave. Yes, people will always have opinions. Some will comment, some will criticize, and many will disagree. But deep down, you know what’s right and wrong for yourself. It’s your life—your values, your decisions. Listen to others, sure, but don’t let every voice dictate your path. Sift through their opinions, take what’s helpful, and discard the rest. I remember being told once: “Stop being so honest in a company; you’re too transparent, and transparency isn’t valued these days.” At that time, it hurt. It made me question myself. But you know what? That same transparency—my unique value—was appreciated elsewhere. Today, I’m where I am because I held onto it. Here’s the thing: Not everyone will value your uniqueness, but someone will. People notice and pick on the qualities that make you different because those stand out. It’s basic psychology—we’re all different by nature. So, embrace what makes you you. Stick to your values, your truth, and your authenticity. It might not always be easy, but in the long run, it’s the only thing that truly sustains you.

Yesterday, I celebrated my 60th birthday. Here are a few things I've learned along the way to this milestone: -God, family, friends, work is the right order. -Bad pizza is still pizza. -A cloudy day at the beach is still a day at the beach. -Thinking you’re right doesn’t mean it’s true. -Thinking someone else is wrong also doesn’t mean it’s true. -Actually, there are dumb questions. -God will absolutely give you more than you can handle, but not more than He can handle. -Learning to say “no” is a game changer. -Wisdom is what happens when you run out of dumb things to do. -There’s too much politics and not enough party in today's political parties. -Every situation can teach you something even if the lesson is what NOT to do. -You’re capable of more than you give yourself credit for. -Kindness matters. -Love wins. -Being generous doesn’t always involve money. -Time is precious, don’t waste it. -Regretting your past mistakes is pointless. Accept them, learn from them, and move on! -Things don’t always have to happen for a reason. -Forgiveness is for you, not them. -Never miss a chance to make someone laugh. -I have no idea how to “act my age”. I’ve never been this old before! Thanks for reading!
