We have advised DBS Bank and other lenders in a SGD297.5 million financing of Terrenus Energy solar power projects in Singapore. When fully operational, the aggregate installed capacity of Terrenus Energy’s entire portfolio of solar photovoltaic projects is expected to exceed 300 MWp, making it one of the largest solar portfolios in Singapore.   Vincent Seah, Country Managing Partner of DLA Piper in Singapore and a member of the Finance practice, led the transaction. Agilitas Energy Secures $100 Million Debt Financing from Nomura Securities International, Inc. for Solar and Energy Storage Expansion Agilitas Energy, a leading integrated developer, builder, owner, and operator of distributed energy storage and solar photovoltaic (PV) systems in the northeastern U.S., has announced the successful closure of a $100 million debt financing deal with Nomura Securities International, Inc. The financing is aimed at facilitating the company’s growth initiatives and nationwide expansion efforts. Nomura Securities International, Inc. acted as the sole bookrunner and lead arranger, with Nomura Corporate Funding Americas, LLC serving as the administrative agent for the deal. In July 2024, Leader Energy signed a VND593 billion ($23.13 million) green financing agreement with HSBC Bank (Vietnam) Ltd. to refinance Vinh Hao 6 (VH6), a 50MW solar power plant acquired by Leader Energy in 2023. VH6 began commercial operations in 2019 and produces 83,000 MWh of electricity annually, hence capable of offsetting 75,131 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions. This partnership is a step forward in Leader Energy's goal of expanding its renewable energy portfolio to over 500MW in Vietnam, reinforcing the country's transition to a greener future. ENGIE surpasses $3.4bn in Tax Equity Investments since 2020 with latest $1bn deal ENGIE North America Inc. recently finalized a $1bn tax equity investment pertaining to a 1.3 GW portfolio of recently commissioned solar and wind projects in ERCOT, MISO, and SPP. JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, and BNP Paribas participated in the agreement. This marks their third such investment since 2020, supporting solar, wind, and storage assets with a combined capacity of 4 GW. ENGIE’s prior tax equity financings include an $800mn deal in Mar’22, for two wind and one solar asset, totaling 665 MW. The first was secured in Apr’20, when ENGIE secured $1.6bn for a 2 GW wind and solar portfolio in ERCOT, SPP, and PJM. With each financing, ENGIE has partnered with a range of financial institutions, including Bank of America, Wells Fargo, HSBC, and Infrared Capital Partners. In the onshore renewables space, ENGIE's tax equity investment activities have surpassed that of its other European peers such as RWE, Enel, EDF, and Orsted. Currently, ENGIE boasts over 7 GW of either operational or under-construction assets across the U.S. and Canada. Additionally, it manages 400 MW of distributed solar and 1.5 GWh of storage. Dedicated to becoming a major player in the US renewables market, it aims for 50 GW by 2025 and 80 GW by 2030 globally.
