#nursingmentorship Adding a mentorship program your SON to compliment your competency base curriculum is a great way to elevate the student nurse experience and achieve student learning outcomes for your program. What mentorship toolkits are program directors using to achieve this? One example is the NLN mentorship toolkit. Check it out https://lnkd.in/g5fWKKiN

Fair Go. Bex Howells has taken up this cause and it deserves widespread and practical support. There are many obstacles to equity in our education and training systems. This is one which strikes after many other hurdles have been overcome and a student/trainee is nearing the end goal of qualification. Far too often, and very unfairly, those who have few resources and/or have exhausted those resources already, just find the practice stages just too costly to do. If we are to increase skills in these affected areas of work the public sector, and the private sector where it applies, have to face this as a legitimate cost of training.

#ICCP #BeforeAndAfterWithICCP. Honestly speaking this journey has really impacted so much in me just with two weeks. #BeoreICCP Before this program, Right from childhood, i have always have this passion for sick people which was what drive me into doing Auxiliary nursing to enable me be of help to the sick people. When I got into the university, I wanted to further my course In Nursing but was given Health and safety in education instead. I love my course since it was still in line with health. I never really have any clearity of what I really want to do after my studies. I love cooking and being in the kitchen, without even knowing that my course of study and my passion for cooking could create a career path for me #AfterICCP Now I have realized that my time is very essential and I need to be mindful of what I spend my time doing and also know what I need to spend my time doing. This program has helped me to see life better, understand it and see clearly those little things I initially ignored or didn’t even know existed. This program has changed the mindset I have about my life and career after school, because now I really know what I want to venture into after my education, now I reason beyond my locality. Now I realize that I must not creat a different solution in general but I can tap into existing solution and make it applicable in my space. Before ICCP, if you see my CV on your table, I don’t think you will look at it twice or even consider me to be a cleaner, yes it was that badt It’s not because I lacked experiences but because I don’t know how to arrange those my experiences in my CV. Today I can boldly submit my CV to any place of my choice without been shaken all thanks to #ICCP I also want to appreciate Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office Lancaster University British Council #NationalUniversityCouncil Ignatius Ajuru University Dr. Akanimo Odon Dr Viola Akhigbe MENTORS Etambuyu Sang'andu Nompumelelo Bhengu

Helping you become a better OT who loves what you do! | Proud #OTNerd 🤓 | 2024 Finalist - OT of the Year | Open to questions and collaborations to help OTs Learn, Grow and Excel! | Owner of Your OT Tutor
If you’re someone that supervises or employees a new grad OT in the NDIS, chances are you’ll need to teach them how to do a Functional Capacity Assessment. Here’s how I would do it… FCAs are trickier than they may seem on paper. Yes, they are OT ‘bread and butter’ and most universities are teaching students about them as part of the curriculum now, but this does not mean your new grad OT will be able to competently do this day 1. Each new grad will have a different level of experience when it comes to FCAs, and they will all like to learn differently. But, if you’d like some ideas for what you could try to upskill your new grad, check out the slides below. Dedicate some time and money to lots of support up front and you’ll have a happier new grad that feels like they have half an idea what they’re doing, as well as much better outcomes for your clients. P.S. If you found this post helpful, keep following Your OT Tutor – there is heaps more to come in 2024! #OccupationalTherapy #NDIS #ClinicalEducation #YourOTTutor

This important study by The Conference Board of Canada emphasizes the importance of strategically integrating digital tools into Experiential Learning (EL) frameworks in Nursing education. This approach can expand the learning landscape by combining the best of both worlds—robust theoretical knowledge through digital platforms and essential hands-on experience via traditional methods. Challenges to overcome include student engagement, academic integrity, and clinical skills gaps. As we continue to navigate these changes, it's clear that the future of experiential learning in nursing education—and potentially other fields—will rely heavily on our ability to meld innovative digital solutions with indispensable traditional practices. Doing so successfully would enable us to take advantage of the flexibility, accessibility, and cost-saving advantages of virtual education. How has your experience been with virtual education? #EducationInnovation #NursingEducation #ExperientialLearning #HybridLearning #FutureOfEducation Read more: https://lnkd.in/g9xdPx6q
