DON'T BE A BYSTANDER. IF YOU SEE CONCERNING BEHAVIOR REPORT IT! This is so true excellent advice. People who commit these acts are usually in crisis. Anyone who is in crisis will exhibit concerning behavior. Those who know that person are in the best position to determine if something is wrong and get that information out to those who can intervene. If you see concerning behavior from someone you know, don't ignore it. Report it. No judgment or assumptions. You are in the best position to know that something isn't right. We must change the narrative that these individuals are evil psychopathic monsters. They are all someone's brother, sister, father, mother, son, daughter, or friend. Although they can certainly do reprehensible things and need to be held accountable, most are just humans in crisis that believe violence is the answer. If you step in to solve their crisis, then they are no longer motivated to kill.

One step we can all take to prevent the next active shooter incident is to listen. If someone makes a credible threat, believe them and quickly find a party to discuss the "credibility" of the factor(s). When someone is on the pathway, we can show them the direction to a "better" tomorrow without the carnage. #NEVERHERE is possible but it takes all of us to get there... Identity Crisis Coach💪 | I help high performing leaders stop going through the motions & get back to being #missioncritical | John 10:10 ✝️ | USMC Vet 🪖 | Podcast Host 🎙️
2+ years after the USMC, I had no idea what I wanted to be when I grew up. Here are the 3 questions I asked myself to get some clarity. ⬇️ #1. “What do I actually want?” Not what **should** I want… Not what makes sense… Not what am I qualified to do… What do // I // want? 🔥 Be radically “selfish.” #2. “What if I _________:” I wrote out a “dream list” of all the things I had ever talked about, day dreamed about, wished I had, been jealous of in other people, etc. 🔥 Be radically vulnerable. #3. “Who or what am I afraid of?” Play out the worst case scenario. Look at it in the face. 🔥 Be radically honest. I looked at that list nearly every day for 6 months. Every day, I conditioned myself to think a little bigger. To let go of my comfort zone a little bit more. Until one day, it clicked!! I quit my job a few months later. 🎯 Clarity only comes when you stop avoiding the hard questions. _________________________ What are you avoiding?

DoD Acquisition Program Manager; Scalable® Business Advisor; Prior Pentagon Advisor; Marine. Ideas mine ≠ DoD. | 𝙈𝙈
I always learn something new and strengthen my perspective on #leadership when speaking with MajGen Kim Crider. Beyond her mastery of problem solving in the #space domain, she thoughtfully bridges the gap between government needs + industry capabilities. LtCol Ryan Latreille and Kim emphasized how preparing for risk means being realistic about its potential, so we can properly defend against threats. Some of our top takeaways over dinner: ⏩ In order to understand potential risk, we must gather context ⏩ Self awareness about our potential bias helps to drive our "Aha!" moments + derive the unknown unknowns ⏩ It's paramount to understand our enemy's mindset; without knowing what they are capable of, we can't present ideal countermeasures ⏩ A team on offense only has to be right some of the time to score points; defenders have to be right 100% of the time on #defense Cheers to empowering our #dod defenders and #ussf #spaceforce guardians across our joint force! 🥂
