I got an Internship offer from Morgan Stanley as Technology Analyst Intern and here is my interview experience with that. Many people have asked for this one. Also the folks who got PPI from Morgan Stanley after the Code To Give hackathon will be having their interviews probably next month! So here is my interview experience with Morgan stanley. There were 2 rounds (1 Technical + 1 HR) Round 1: Technical round (1 hr) Introduction of both me and the interviewer. She asked me to implement a stack data structure with push, pop, peek and get_min(Get the minimum element in stack) functions. This is min stack question from Leetcode. I did it correctly. Second question was a 2-sum question on Leetcode. I gave it's optimal solution Third question was a 3-sum question on Leetcode. I gave a brute force approach. I told her how I’m thinking about the optimal solution. She said ok and moved to core subject questions. It was a kind of rapid fire. For OS: deadlock, reasons of deadlock, ways to avoid it, difference between process and thread For DBMS: keys and their types, differences between some of them. Normalization, its types, why to use it and how to convert data in specific NF form. I was able to answer all the questions correctly. Then she asked me to design a library management system: tables, their purpose and design etc. I discussed that with her. She asked if I had any questions for her. I asked 2 questions about company and internship role. I was sent to HR. Round 2: HR round (Technical + HR, 40mins) The interviewer had gone through my resume already We had the introduction of each other Project discussion: my role in project, tech stack, implementation, team or solo project. Behavioral questions: teamwork Technical questions: OOP (Inheritance, polymorphism) Answered them correctly. Then some discussion around the company and my questions to him. Result Declaration: In the evening I got to know that I got selected for the internship.✨ (Result declaration time may vary, you may ask the interviewer about it) Shraddha Pawar #letsgrowtogether

🤗 I'm glad I did not get a return offer from Capital One. ⚙ Interning at Capital One as a Software Engineer was amazing! Most importantly, it was the confirmation that I chose the right career. 🔥 Not to mention, I was on fire! After mentor and manager chats, I was convinced I'd be in New York next summer. ❌ However, my fear of rejection led me to submit my OA just before the deadline, resulting in a rejection. 😱 I was absolutely terrified. I fumbled an amazing position during one of the most demanding internship recruitment seasons ever. I felt like I was thrown to the lions. But, I knew that my rejection was the result of letting my fears overcome me. 🤚 And trust me, I was not going to let that happen again! I adopted a fierce mindset to always chase my goals and never get comfortable. Here are steps I took to transform: ➡ I practiced technical interview problems, whether it was watching a video or actually coding. ➡ I worked on my professional development skills, refining my techniques in interviewing and obtaining opportunities. ➡ I made sure to never slow down or feel entitled to an opportunity. I did not get it unless I got an offer. ➡ I took a new step in my personal thinking, allowing myself to immediately fix problems and act fast in situations that require preparation. ✨ As a result of these efforts, I secured an offer to join a big tech company as a Software Engineer for the summer. While it wasn't my initial preference, receiving this offer taught me a profound lesson: "Sometimes it takes a wrong turn to get you to the right place" 🙏 I am now wiser, more confident, and stronger.
